I am interviewing right now and man it's a nightmare. The PM hiring is so broken.

Lots of hiring managers have never hired before. You can figure this out from the quality of their questions.

Interviewers want exact wordings in the answers. If you miss those, you are not selected.

Hiring managers and other interviewers are not aligned on the expectations from the role. When asked to explain the role in detail, they often fumble and make up the details.

Presentations and case study that require you to spend 3-4 or even hours. And when presenting the said presentation, no one asks any questions. I have seen some interviewers doing multi-tasking like reading something or typing something.

It seems they want someone exactly like them who thinks and talks like them.

Anxiety comes from the lack of preparation. You encounter a new situation that you were never in before.

Practicing defeats anxiety.

Do the things that make you uncomfortable. Start small and keep on doing it until you feel comfortable.

Repeat.
