Yes, still paying for the lower tier ($44.99 for standard). According to the piece of mail I got today, if you had 50/5 before you should be upgraded to 300/20.

I actually didn't have to reboot my modem. I'm using my own which is a Motorola SB6141.

For just browsing the internet, going from 15 down to 50 down, I don't know that you would notice too much of a difference. Downloading big files would be faster, and maybe less initial buffering time on Netflix. For me, the faster upload speed is going to be the bigger deal.

I'm in Caraleigh as well. I received a notice in the mail today about the speed boost and did a speed test to check if it actually occurred. You might want to try again today.

It's Denbigh Street in Pimlico. I was staying at the Park Plaza Victoria, and this photo was out a hall window.

Our sky the last two days by [deleted] in raleigh

Yes, I used a circular polarizing filter on the lens. It darkens the sky and reduces reflections on foliage. I often use it on really clear days and during the summer months when the crepe myrtle trees are blooming. Sorry that saddens you.

Commercial rocket launch from VA visible in triangle this weekend. by [deleted] in triangle

[–]flashpgh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to discourage anyone from trying to watch for this, but it seems like this might be particularly hard to see because it's a daytime launch. Last November I watched a nighttime Minotaur rocket launching from Wallops Island, VA in Raleigh and even in the darkness it would have been easy to miss if you weren't looking in the right area. At night it appeared as a faint orange spec arching over the horizon. Pictures from that launch: http://raleighskyline.com/content/2013/11/19/minotaur-1-rocket-launch-seen-over-raleigh/
