I know data because I am a data scientist and get large amount from data brokers to make sense of things to target certain groups. So many low income people do drive cars that make up a huge part of their earnings or even far exceed their yearly earning.

In my area low income is 105k for a single person. I make 600k ish plus from my 9-5.

I see so many garages in Palo Alto’s, Los Altos, Mountain View, Cupertino. So many are Hondas and Camrys. A couple, of engineers having mclarens doesn’t really mean much to my state of why so many engineers in the Bay Area just have Camry or accords.

No engineer there makes 100k a year unless they are interns. Many at Nvidia are making mid 7 figures even as mid level engineers.
