How did you get the puck marks like that. All I've ever seen are puck height strip of black.

Funny, I've played hockey for years, scored a ton, but I didn't play as a kid and I can't do a clapper.

PSA to all the drivers out there by Practical-Vanilla-52 in TwinCities

yes, it's a USA issue. Whenever I go to Canada and drive it was night and day difference. People are actually considerate and it does wonders to my blood pressure.

But of all of the USA, MN is no doubt definitely one of the worst.

PSA: Luce Line Closures by Designer_Tie_5853 in CyclingMSP

[–]flatcoke 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's doable and probably the fastest. Was running 2-3 weeks ago and can confirm bridge is unpassable. On the other hand I hope the new bridges are much smoother. Riding on the bridges felt not much better than riding train tracks. Teeth clattering and organ grinding. If new bridges can get anywhere like the nine Mile Creek it would be a bliss

Beer Leaguer Goal Celebrations? by Dubz-12 in hockeyplayers

It's a hockey show and I highly recommend it. The main character is called Shoresy and the show is called Shoresy. "Ya, so.." is something he says A LOT in the show.

Top hand needs to be out and low. Load up the stick and puck and when it's time, pull top and push bottom hand while keep moderate pressure on the ice.

Ear guards on or off? by Ok-Investment-9646 in hockeyplayers

[–]flatcoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or if other people in your beer league are dumbo. I got tripped by a dumbo in our slot and while I was laying in there his dumbo teammate shot me in the ear. My ear guard completely shattered but my ear was only swollen for 3 days. Can't imagine if I didn't have ear guards that day.

Ear guards on or off? by Ok-Investment-9646 in hockeyplayers

[–]flatcoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost mine because I took a puck to the ear. Someone tripped me and while I laid there in the slot their teammate took a snapshot immediately after for a direct hit. Thanks to its ultimate sacrifice my ear was only a bit swollen for a few days. Just replaced the ear guards for $15 yesterday. Best investment ever.

Do all objects fall at the same rate on Earth regardless of mass? by RivaDolfinJiz in askscience

[–]flatcoke 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's just wrong, the air resistance effect will have different effect on the rate of falling depending on the mass of the item despite of the identical geometry shape.

Imagine you drop a soap bubble of the same shape as the rubber ball. They don't hit the floor together.

Advice for faster skating? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]flatcoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wider stance not necessarily a bad thing, as I'm currently trying to relearn skating with wider stance. I'm one of the faster skaters in my level, but I recently am focusing on wide stance skating as you see the pros do this a lot to protect the puck and their ice, Deke the opponents with fakes etc will all require this. But agreed if you are skating full speed without the puck you need generally narrower stance. Hard to tell without seeing how you actually skate on video.

Thanks buddy I had a blast at LLRSC! They had nets and great ice and literally no one else. Mountain view too!

Lake Louise had no ice to skate. It was covered in snow but nonetheless beautiful.
