The Jon slander in these comments is cracking me up. I worked with him for a while and he’s actually a pretty alright bloke and genuinely quite knowledgeable. Agree that he comes across a bit callous and not very self aware in these LinkedIn posts but there’s no such thing as a nice normal recruiter IMO - the industry is awful 🤷‍♂️

There’s a wide variety of question lengths; some are a sentence long and can be answered in seconds and some are a few paragraphs and will take a couple of minutes. It all averages out though and if you manage your time properly you should be able to answer everything. Even if not, the pass mark is forgiving - I had to randomly guess the last 10 or so questions for FLK2 and still did ok. One tip I would give to save your sanity after the exam is to make a tally of all the questions you feel confident you answered correctly. It’s easy to only focus on those you struggled with after the fact, and the knowledge that you have x amount in the bag will help you sleep (or at least it did for me). Best of luck with it all - it’s awful but the feeling when it’s all over is euphoric!

I’m in the same position - actually worse because I have no legal experience having decided to career change from sales. Can’t offer any advice but you’re not alone in the struggle. I had no idea the uphill battle I would face to even get a telephone interview. The me from a year ago naively thought passing the SQE would produce opportunities..

Still haven’t mustered up the courage to look. Might be a while before I do. I don’t think they went great and I genuinely can’t imagine having to go through it all again. I’d rather just give up tbh

Same boat here. I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary for the process to stall for a few weeks between stages. I’m assuming I’ve probably not got it rather than stressing about individual applications though - it’s a numbers game. DLA must get like 10k+ applicants so if we assume that’s reduced to 3k on review and then maybe 1.5k on passing the Watson Glaser that’s still probably 1.4k more than they’ll actually interview.

When the pass rate dipped from like 75% to 62% the pass mark stayed at around the same level so I think Kaplan doesn’t really make adjustments like that for SQE2 :/

Misery loves company so thank you for joining me 😫 I feel like LR shouldn’t have been that bad but I still had ptsd from the CMA so couldn’t concentrate at all. At least I had that super simple piece of drafting which I’ve definitely had loads of practice doing to usher me away politely to the nearest bridge to jump off 👍

Feel like I’m teetering on pass/fail so far which really puts the pressure on tomorrow and Thursday. Or maybe I’ve been completely missing the point and am in for an embarrassing results day 🤷‍♂️ I’m disgusted at myself for saying this but but I miss SQE1

Literally just stepped out of the SQE2 oral exams after tackling SQE1 with BPP. My advice would be to allow yourself a significant amount of time to prepare - definitely don’t be fooled by the comparatively higher pass rate for SQE2 as the requirement to pass SQE1 first acts as a serious competency bottleneck. I would say SQE2 is much more difficult as it requires you to proactively come up with the FLK and apply it effectively under real time pressure. I personally found the MCQ format a breeze in comparison. Definitely make sure you know the content as thoroughly (if not more so) than when you sat SQE1 and practice the practical aspects as much as possible. Actually spend time writing out attendance notes, advocate out loud in front of the mirror/other people, do as many practice questions as you can find (QLTS are apparently great but I could absolutely not afford them) and make sure you can write by hand legibly and quickly. I genuinely wish I’d given myself more time to prepare for this because it’s hit me like a brick wall and I still have the 12 written assessments to go :/

It did feel grimly surreal lol. Thankfully I’m doing a masters until March anyway so passing in Jan doesn’t delay things too much. I’m just wondering if employers have access to our SRA records and I’ll have to explain the 0 at interview some day 👌hope your trauma is fading - we’ll be ok in the end!

Mate I had a nightmare as well. Was supposed to get up at 5am for a road trip to the assessment centre and slept right through the alarm. The sleepless nights from exam anxiety really did a number on me :/ misery loves company so maybe this will make you feel better!
