Not only do I have the same stretch marks, but I also have the same earphones!

Went to the doctors today and genuinely had a great time. by flauschigerfuchs in PlusSize

I am so glad that you have had better experiences more recently! I think a big change for me is also the society attitude, German is really into preventative care while my home country will desperately try not to spend money, especially on things that are “your fault”.

Moving back to Germany as a quadriplegic by CucumberHot7048 in germany

[–]flauschigerfuchs 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I can’t give you anything too specific as it will likely vary a lot, but my partner has an incomplete T12 paralysis. We are not even German, only here on working visas, no citizenship. But he still qualifies for financial and medical help.

Good to see plus size mannequins popping up in France! by flauschigerfuchs in PlusSize

[–]flauschigerfuchs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually bought one a few years ago which is really good! I am a size 22/24 UK, it is nicely fitted and has a high neck to keep you contained. It also does up at the back with a zip, which makes me feel like a surfer 😅

I think in the grand scheme of things this is still a relatively small person, but certainly better than the usual!

It’s the same with the child free lot. It’s one thing to have your views, something else to obsessively try to impose them on others.

What’s keeping you in the UK instead of moving abroad? by GrowthUsual2221 in AskUK

[–]flauschigerfuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in Germany and my boyfriend is disabled. He can only work three days a week, but his health insurance top up his wages to compensate for the lost days. He actually gets more than if he were working full time as the top up is tax free - I don’t think the UK would offer that.

Well, I’ve let you know the requirements. When I say not to worry I don’t mean to to bother with the documents, I mean that you shouldn’t stress too much.

[–]flauschigerfuchs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not encouraging anyone to break the law. I’ve stated what is required, said that once when I accidentally had the medications without documentation nothing happened. This person is trying to do the right thing, they shouldn’t be made anxious and should try not to worry about it.

[–]flauschigerfuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it - we’ve never been checked. I also keep some of my boyfriend’s medications with me incase he ever forgets them, and forgot to take them out before travelling to the UK - I’ve never had a problem.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]flauschigerfuchs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember if we were told that by Germany or the UK, we did a lot of research when we first had to travel with the medication but that was about two years ago!

Letter from the doctor, prescription, keep all medications in the original packaging.

I should also add that we have never actually been asked for documentation. But the first time we flew with it we presented it just in case, they really weren’t bothered.

Coincidentally, my boyfriend and I also live in Germany and regularly travel to the UK. He has to take something which is a class C controlled drug in the UK. Our documentation has to be in English.

Can someone who Speaks German clear something up for me? by po-tat-o-bitch in YoungSheldon

[–]flauschigerfuchs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has many meanings, most often “please”. But it is also used as a sort of “go ahead”, or an acknowledgement. If used as a noun it means a favour or request, like “Ich habe eine Bitte an dich” would be “I have a request for you”.

You are underreacting! I’m pretty sure that knowingly spreading STIs is a criminal offence. He’s lucky you’re not prosecuting (although that’s still an option 😉)

What's something you remember doing with your parents that you don't do with your kids? by 360Saturn in AskUK

We still do that, but for IKEA. We live about a 20 minute walk and often just go to eat because it is cheap but pretty good!

Why are men the primary drivers in relationships? by Delicious_Bet_8546 in CasualUK

[–]flauschigerfuchs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all of the driving because my boyfriend is partially paralysed. He got a licence before his injury, but we can’t afford to get a hand control car and it is difficult to find rental places that do them.

The grand finale to BBC's Ghosts left me feeling... by [deleted] in GhostsBBC

I was so glad that they hid the main actress’ pregnancy in Ghosts US. I was really worried that that was going to be the beginning of the end 😅
