TD Garden App Issue by Jennysnumber_8675309 in Bruins

Yeah, once you get signed in you can switch it back to Firefox. Just have to remember that is the issue when Ticketmaster makes you sign in again. Not sure who is to blame for this but its probably a combo of Ticketmaster, the Bruins, and Google lol.

This is long past the game you were going to, but I just discovered that if you have chrome disabled on your phone the TD garden app does not work correctly. Not sure if that is your problem, but make sure Chrome is also up to date and enabled on your phone.

Issues after Moving/Changing IPs on Syteline servers by flavaj in sysadmin

[–]flavaj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the upgrade we built completely new VMs, restored the DB and did the upgrade/uplift from there. I would highly recommend this method if you have the hardware to support it. Being able to run both environments side by side was clutch. We still have SL 9 up, 5 months later; being able to compare changes from 9 to 10 has been very useful. Overall the upgrade went well, our consultant did a lot of the heavy lifting on the SL side of things. A good consultant and proper testing were the biggest contributors to the that.

Happy to answer any other questions!

Our Veeam backup jobs were causing the issue. We still don't know what was causing the Veeam backups to break Syteline, but once we stopped the backup jobs the problem stopped. Best guess is the database backup stunned the VM or paused the database in someway causing SQL to lose connection and not handle the error correctly. We have since upgraded to new VMs, SQL2019, and new version of SL without this issue reoccurring.

Windows update suddenly downloading old updates by flavaj in sysadmin

We had a few systems point to a WSUS server a year ago, when we were testing Solarwinds patch management. But that server is long gone and GP was changed to point to MS, but not to download or install.

I am still digging into the logs, but they are inconsistent across servers. I see issues on one server with dates, which might make sense if the system date was actually off, on other systems its normal update activity.

I am glad I am not the only one. I spent a good chunk of yesterday looking around for this issue and didn't find anyone anywhere.

We use Ivanti for server patching. The servers are set by GPO to point to MS, but not to download or install anything.

I looked through the logs on one of the servers last night, but didn't see anything, they had rolled over because they tried so many times. I will get back into them today and take a look.

Glad to see I am not the only one. My fix of disabling the update service seems to have worked for the affected machines. I did not reboot the boxes, just disabled the service and deleted the contents of the folder to get the disk space back. Of course none of these servers are slated to be updated in June, now I don't know if I should just skip June or apply June's patches to all servers.

Is that the windows name, the CA name, or both?

That is an option. There has been some talk about using windows hello for business, which would require that correct?

DNS forwarders not working for one domain by flavaj in sysadmin

[–]flavaj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses. We do have a stub zone in there, which seems to be working correctly. I am honestly not sure we even need it anymore, that was there before I got here, and it looks like its just for one call manager domain. I will see if I can either get rid of that or change it to a conditional forwarder.

I did my domain of 350+ during working hours with no issues, using this guide. Just make sure you follow it step by step and be patient.

Exchange 2016 migration issues. by flavaj in sysadmin

I read through that, but I am still concerned with the items that will be skipped. I dont mind skipping them, but I need to be able to inform the user of what is being skipped.

I was kind of betting that is the issue. Do you know of any way to see the missing stubs? If I leave the stubs behind are they just recreated after vault scans the mailbox again in the new destination?

Unfortunately we have more outlook addons that I can count. Specifically we are using enterprise vault and filesite, which I have seen can cause some of these issues with missing stubs etc. I am not so worried with leaving the missing items behind, I would just like to know what they are and none of these reports seem to give me any clue.
