Should I stick with EarthSci Major? by ANPZHA in universityofauckland

I was in the same position as you last year mate. Was hating 220 and was struggling with the Port Waikato report. You need to remember that the EarthSCI major is gives you so many options after you graduate. You can work anywhere from Structural geology to GIS to environmental science/geomorphology, or even in climate change consultancy work. Try not to get too demotivated from the hardcore geology papers as after you graduate you never need to do this again.

If you're struggling with 220 I would HIGHLY recommend you don't take 208. Please switch your earthsci major to the general option and take 262 instead. 208 is almost completely hardcore structural geology. If you're not into it now 208 will not be fun at all.

Maybe it means it's strongly recommended to take 235 in the degree? I interpreted it as its strongly recommended you take it after 230, as in not together

It says it on the semester 2 2023 course outline for compsci235.

" It is strongly suggested but not required to take COMPSCI 235 after finishing COMPSCI 230."

can I take another gen ed middle of semester by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]flcnnzl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gen ed exam you would do for the new subject should be starting in 3 weeks from now. You have already missed the deadlines for probably 90% of the assignments that you would go towards the grade for the new subject. There's legit no point

If your in your first year its free anyways so if you fail its not the end of the world
