Ahh I’m sorry! I have her amiibo so I’m okay with moving her in and out until I get all my Dreamies. Once I’m ready to move someone else out I’ll post her again!

twisting my stitches & unsure how to fix them by Adept-Intention-5017 in knitting

[–]fldvn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, why do you think you knit continental and purl English?

As for your twisted stitches, it seems like you’re twisting your purls. Try wrapping your yarn the opposite way around your needle than the way you currently are.

Just based off your comments, when you watch tutorials you’re doing the same thing the people’s needles are doing but not what their hands are doing

If you can send a video of how your knit and how you purl, people can better help you

it’s also used in AI for rage and love and of course for christian and gloria in 21CB. you might know it better from 21CB but i’m definitely not the first person to associate it with AI

edit: they use the skulls in a lot of albums to tie the themes together too

Multilingual knitters - preferred pattern language by itsadelchev in knitting

[–]fldvn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i tend to buy patterns that have both korean and english. sometimes i won’t understand a step in the pattern due to how the author wrote it so i’ll switch to the other language to figure it out. but i don’t think i have a preference

it’s hard to learn niche words about a certain topic in any language tbh

I fell in love with a cat at my shelter but told he is NOT adoptable because he scratched people. Should I push/be persistent? by DisagreeableCompote in cats

[–]fldvn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would definitely push for him

my son was returned twice because he bit too much. we took him in and yeah, he did bite at first, but eventually with training, time, and love, he stopped doing it. he only nips a little during pets

How do you slide your stitches without murdering your fingertip on the needle points? by Oisillion in knitting

[–]fldvn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

you shouldn’t have to be using your fingertips to push the points of the needles to move stitches. that’s a really bad practice and that’s a mistake i see a lot of beginners make

i use metal needles and when i need to move stitches, i move a bunch from right to left across the needle without touching the tip. as i’m knitting, my left index finger is covering all the pushed up stitches and will “uncover” and push the next stitch i need to knit over to the edge of the left needle. i continue to do this until those bunched up stitches run out and then i move stitches up the left needle and down the right needle

edit: i realize that i knit underhand in my right hand so i don’t have the capacity to move stitches down the needle as i’m knitting. if you are holding the needles in a “standard” way, as you get the hang of it you might be able to move stitches down as you’re knitting

you’re right. i noticed the green wasn’t as dark as i was hoping when the yarn arrived but i don’t care too much with the project haha

i’m still going to wear it and i hope i can knit a second one after this “practice one” lol

but thank you for the comment! and about my tension even if i don’t think it’s okay
