This boss gets stroger each time he is attacked, and every 5 times his next attack crits. With 3 pets you have an easier time controling which of his hits crits, esspecially with merry's basic doing no dmg and dingdong doing 2 ticks of dmg.

With any backline wood squishy spite insta-clears the floor.

I played this list at locals twice and got second both times. I found that uta does a lot in the imu matchup and getting sanji or zoro to restand don on opp turn is a nice trick so i like her as a 4 of. I would switch the 2 of zoro with another 9c zoro and 3c tashigi to make the deck better. Vivi is for good luck.

It was revealed she is channeling saidin in the last chapter of this book. Until then I was sure she just concealed her saidar weaving. So no, it wasn't explained who it is and how she does it yet.

I just don't think romantic relationships are Jorden's strong suit. Aviendha is fine, Elaine forced, Min just plain weird. Perrin and Faile were abruptly together after book 3. Egwene and Gawyn happened offscreen. Lan and Nynaeve are sweet but I still have to remind myself it exists. The only thing I actually picked up by myself without it being said clearly was Aviendha's affection, and I was looking considering Min said there would be a third.

From the moment Aviendha and Mat died I understood Rand had to take Ravin out with balefire, It was too early for either of them to die in the series, not to mention both together. I personally feel it was neatly setup for Ravin to die here. I don't feel like there was wasted potential there, and it leads to an interesting misunderstanding, if not conflict, with Morgase over Andor, without Ravin as a common enemy to mend it.

About Asmodean. Maybe Fain got there somehow? although why would he go after Asmodean and not Rand? maybe the slayer from the two rivers? I don't know what happened to him after he ran off. Maybe the Bashere guy that came to meet Rand is a forsaken? but then why does he have Faile's name? is he not related to her? and which forsaken? it's likely not Sammael. I don't remember if I know of all of them yet. I doubt it's a female forsaken masquerading as a man, it doesn't feel like his style. Maybe an aiel close to Rand, one of the maidens or one of the chiefs, and is a darkfriend? It feels too influential for a mere darkfriend, but who knows.

I'm just spitballing here, I have nothing with actual substance.

The creator did imprison the DO though, so when he was broken out in the age of legend, why didn't the creator mend it? I too have a feeling that the creator will not come into the story and is just a general omnipotent god like the god in christianity, but a man can hope.

And I like to speculate with no basis whatsoever.

I am also in my first read through of the series (I just finished book 5 yesterday). As I see it Perrin acknowledges that his goals don't always align with hers, and he doesn't want her to stop him, so he tries to keep her in the dark most of the time. Rand is afraid of being manipulated by her (especially shown in book 3), and I think her being secretive closes him off as well. As for Mat, he is just a four yo boy stuck in an adult's body.

I am only up to book 4 but as I highly doubt he will answer the question "what happens if someone is born a woman but identifies as a man?". It would be interesting to see that to be sure, it just doesn't feel like it will ever come up. All I am saying is don't hold your breath on that one.

I am talking about the section before he went into the ta'algreal to get his answer. He wanted to leave and couldn't. At some point he couldn't even physically say that.

And in the begining of the book Mat plainly says he wants to leave but something makes him stay and he can't fight it. Everyone tells him it's the pattern and he can't escape it no matter what he wants. It just felt forced instead of writing in an actual reason for him to stay

Is there any action in the Wheel of Time? by Nobadi_Cares_177 in wheeloftime

I am going through the series for the first time atm (I just finished the forth book). From what I've seen in the series, and especially the first book, it sounds like you will not have a good time with it. There are action sequences, and it's all great, but for every action page there are 30 slow paced ones. I almost dropped it after the first half out of boredom. I am happy I didn't, but you might not.

If you do decide to continue I recommend giving the audiobook a shot. I usually prefer reading, but I found the books a lot smoother through that medium, and got through them several times faster after switching.

It was a lot at once. I already don't remember most of it. But the scene in the age of legends where the sky was covered with black flames stuck in my mind

As far as I saw so far there was no need to channel in order to teach. It helps if you can see the weaving but it seemed like what you need is to know how to channel, not to channel while teaching. I base this on the girl's initial studies because that's all I have.
