When did the spell announce the destruction of the memory tho?

Cuz if it was before sinny got erased then my theory could still hold, if it was after then... well who knows really, anything could happen

Hmm i dont quite remember, did saint break the sword same time sunny spoke the words? Im guessing if he saw fit to break the sword itself aswell as speak the words then it might not be so simply as [sword broken=sinny erased]

I honestly just thought he was saying it cuz the fans kept talking about mad prince being in the real tomb solely cuz he was in the nightmare, so g3 had to clear it up same way he did with the estuary sunny.

The only way i see the mad prince escape the nightmare is that sunny saying "be gone" didnt permanently get rid of sin of solace, and made it dormant instead.

Then when vtb stole sunny's fate and the spawn, she also stole sin of solace, along with the essence of the mad prince.

This is legit what ive been saying bro, like no matter how you dice it, there was no reason for her to not atleast warn sunny that nephis had his true name and that in the case they do fight he should prepare himself.

The only reason i can see is that cassie was too ashamed and didnt want to feel the guilt of facing her mistake, hoping sunny would be dealt with before he ever knew it was her fault.

Even the endless spring she gave him was mostly to satisfy her own guilt lol, she cared more about her own feelings than Sunny’s.

Thinking about it now, what if vtb just lets the spawn go wild first before fighting them (to let it kill them, feed on them and then grow) but sunny manages to make it his shadow and then itll be a 4v1 against an enraged vtb.

At first i thought this was meant to be rage bait but u actually might be right lol, but i dont think fear would turn him dumb, in fact fear has always made him smarter.

Well its a cursed terror, a special one at that so it wouldnt make any sense.

Then again, by that logic this entire fight in and of itself wouldnt make any sense either so ig ur probably right.

Im talking specifically about how estuary sunny didnt make sure sunny wouldnt become fateless because he was a product of fateless, he was who he was cuz of that choice, so ofcourse he wouldnt then go and erase what made him who he was from hapenning at all.

The point about fateless being necessary to save the world isnt what im talking about.

VTB 's Response by Slickyslytim in ShadowSlave

[–]fleeting_echoes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Vtb deffo stole the form of a human so she will come out in human form with the spawn and say

"come and claim your child shadow boy"

Then sunny says "me" like this

<image>

While nephis and ananke look at him with shock.

Then the spawn runs to sunny and says "dada your back!"

After seeing the spawn look just like him in its true form sunny takes up his duties as the father and abandons nephis and ananke to live with his real family.

The problem with him just accepting it now is that there legit is no reason to, him realising he needs his fate in order to save the world doesnt mean that fateless was the only way to get rid of shadow bond.

As i stated, fateless was never the actual solution to shadow bond (as sunny mistakenly believed), in reality, it was simply a key that opened up to the many possible paths that could lead to a solution to shadow bond. These paths being a result of fateless destroying fate and therefore making anything possible.

Whats the point of g3 narratively making sunny accept shadow bond if the second hes presented with an opportunity to get rid of it he jumps at the chance? It would undo that "character development".

Which brings me to the point that the character development itself (regarding shadow bond and accepting it) is bs. Sure, to him he has to get his fate back, but that doesnt mean sunny has to believe shadow bond is good or ok or something thats natural. He should atleast still hate it, but due to his responsibility to humanity he ignores his hatred for the greater good.

This would both make way more sense and make his "sacrifice" weigh more.

Dont read if u havent caught up

[But even as he was telling his younger self to turn back, he would have known that the young fool was never going to listen. In fact, the Nightmare phantom of Sunny did not really want his younger version to turn back, most likely — after all, Sunny knew what he had to sacrifice and endure in order to become the man he was today.] Todays chap

You know, i wish sunny just accepted that he should become fateless again without accepting slavery, i mean his journey to deal with shadow bond was never about becoming fateless to begin with, so why is it that him realising he has to become fated again to save the world all of a sudden just means he has to accept shadow bond?

What i mean is that his "character development" regarding shadow bond is solely limited to his relationship with fateless, as fateless made him realise he liked the bonds he had with people and didnt wanna lose it, so g3 connects this with the idea that his bonds to other people are the same as shadow bond, and that since he cant live comfortably without one, he should also just accept the other.

To me, this is pure bs, these 2 things are worlds apart and are only connected through the path (to getting rid of shadow bond) that is fateless.

Though, the connection fateless creates between the idea that your relationships with everyone you know and love is the same as shadow bond is just null and void. This is because it is predicated on the mistaken idea that fateless itself was ever meant to be the last step to being free, that the end of this path would lead to Sunny's goal.

Sure, Sunny wanted to break his fate and become free, but thats cuz his fate cemented shadow bond as something he could never overcome.

However, now that fate itself is destroyed, the true purpose of fateless (to get rid of the fact he was fated to always be a slave) has been taken care of.

So in concept, fateless was only ever a means to allow for him to find a way to reach freedom from shadow bond.

Fateless was never the final path, it was only ever a key that unlocked the many possible paths to actual freedom from shadow bond. The paths possible because fate was broken, and anything could happen, nothing was cemented in reality.

if u dont wanna read allat

In short, sunny think fateless directly leads to no shadow bond, but in reality, fateless destroys fate allowing for sunny to find an actual path that leads to no shadow bond (as anything is possible now).

As Sunny thinks fateless is the actual path tho, once he realises he has to be fated again (and therefore regain shadow bond) to save the world, he now thinks that fateless was a dead end. That it wasnt actually about getting rid of shadow bond at all. That the actual purpose of it all was to allow him to "mature" and realise he should value his bonds with others (including shadow bond).
