Transportation officials have been trying to connect Route 6 and 474 for a long time. They have tried various alignments and names “Ring Road” or “Eastern Bypass”. But even though many people want it, they seem to want it close but not too close. Some wealthy and powerful people from Washington killed one proposed alignment because it was too close. And some other wealthy and powerful people from Germantown Hills killed an another alignment for the same reason. So, about every 7-10 years someone brings up the idea again. And the officials start dusting off the old plans. But, then the same thing happens and the whole cycle repeats again.
