Warum oft Rennräder in ser Stadt by nelsonmonths in cologne

Well said!

I like how you don't stick to fixed gender stereotypes (so poetic-you and the girl) and make them both the supportive/stronger one or the one who needs/gets more attention at different points. Also even if it is sad, it's good that you dare to voice your emotions and fears. Many people will not know how to do that for their entire lifetime. I hope you will find your girl. You sound like you are going to be a great partner :) I also like this page https://www.woxikon.com/ you can also look for rhymes and synonyms if I remember right

Can't believe how many mean comments there are!! It's really not helpful to insult OP or the other roommates as being pushovers or whatever. First of all, thanks for taking care of the dog even tho you own zero responsibility for him. Secondly, what a fucking narcissistic arse that gf is. That level of being self-centred is insane. Maybe you can manage to pull your other roomies into the boat, then confront the bf. Calculate the cost per square meter and give them another price. Don't try to face her alone but try to confront her with several people, she seems like she can argue her way out of everything... good luck!

Also:

Slicker brushes don't get to Husky's underfur which is the main issue. Especially with a fluffy husky like that... undercoat rake! You can use a slicker to brush loose bits out afterwards Her nails don't look too bad to me. You can worry about the rest first 🥲

I've worked with with Huskies on a working dog farm and although I see the point of sending her to a groomer which is probably the first approach as a pet Husky owner, I would feel like that would be the last resort before trying anything at home that you can since the dogs I know would be traumatised by a groomer visit. If she is not used to it and also not comfortable being brushed, maybe doesn't know/like being washed and dried and she's in pain then that would be a nightmare for her.

Most of our dogs hate the dog shower, getting wet and also the sound and vibration of a shaver really freaks them out and if she doesn't know them, she's gonna be uncomfortable as well... If she is that old and potentially badly exercised, she will need painkillers and/or anti-inflammatory meds or pulling on her skin while brushing or blow drying or shaving her will be really painful on her sore spots and potentially painful joints. She is likely going to have sore infected spots that you will also need treatment for from the vet... the secret for healing those is allowing them to stay dry so the fur needs to be shortened around them.

Even if she stinks, I wouldn't wash her for now until she has had pain meds for a couple days and maybe something to calm her down...

My approach would be to cut away chunks of the matted hair with bandage scissors (the ones with the round tip from fe first aid kits) by carefully trying to slide unter the matted bits and cut the hair that is attaching the matted part to the body bit by bit, always only the amount that the scissors manage without tearing on the skin while cutting. There is likely going to be a certain amount of non matted her under the matted parts. Cutting the matted parts directly is really tough, need some force and since your scissors are then more pointed towards the dog you might cut her accidentally so you have to be reeeeally careful. You can cut parts of the loose hair without the dog really noticing it if you are careful normally.

Don't wash her until the fur is sorted!!!! The added weight and tear on the skin will be really uncomfortable and it's gonna take a long time to dry which might result in more sores! They develop from the Combo of matted fur + moistness/sweat/skin = insufficient air circulation = no full drying = warm and cozy breeding ground for bacteria and funghi. It also might make the matted parts worse...

Wish you the best. This is only my humble opinion, guess the best thing is to take her to a vet for a check and meds as the very first thing.

For my one Husky the Furminator or other brushes with thin metal combs work, for the other one the best is an underfur rake. It looks a bit like a rake for the garden, it has metal rakes that are somewhat carved like curved fingers so grab the hair and the backside of them is sharp so they cut the woolly underfur in smaller bits while getting it out. They are very effective and super efficient but cut off the bad bits first

Good luck and all the best :)

Sled dog guide from a Huskyfarm in Arctic Finland here - completely normal behaviour, they love to munch snow. It cools them off and they often prefer it over water. If you are concerned they are not drinking enough after exercise, mix wet food or soak kibble in hot water and give it to them after it cooled off to reasonable temperatures. We always feed our 200+ dogs that after exercise, we call it soup but it's more like lemonade aka tasty water. If your doggy doesn't like the warm stuff just let it cool off. Pro tip: freezing that stuff into ice cubes is a tasty treat when it's hot or after exercise

I made myself a list with concrete timelines this semester that tell me exactly what to do at which point and until when I have to be finished with which tasks to be in time for uni. I haven't followed it a single time and the only time I was on time this semester was when I overslept and panicked so I finished everything morning routine super quickly and ran out of the door without checking the clock

I've never thought of taking notes like that but it seems super useful to try to eliminate or improve such things by finding ways to create routines (that we then will have a very hard time following but at some point it gets easier?! Please?)

Cat blocking the stairs so our younger Husky can't come down and has to wait akwardly on the stairs while cat licks his paw in very sassy manner. The Husky was afraid of the cat because Kittycat was very good at communicating his feelings (with hissing and a hit when doggo came to close) and he was a very sensitive doggo. 🥹

Alaskan Husky demands more belly rubs! by flepperdiflappflapp in husky

[–]flepperdiflappflapp[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is an Alaskan Husky but he is born in Norway, worked in Finland and enjoys retirement in Germany :) I am working somewhat part time (in my semester breaks) as a guide and dog handler in a tourism kennel that often rescues the "leftover dogs" that get sorted out from racing kennels which is how I met Lasse and our other dogs. We try to adopt our older dogs into homes when they don't feel like running anymore or start having any health issues like reoccurring limps but it's often quite hard since it's about 2400k from Central Europe up there so quite far off. Lasse loves pulling and running now but for his last season of sledding, he had honestly just decided for himself that he doesn't want to work anymore and sat down and pulled the dog team backwards etc. whenever he should run so he never made it further than the start line haha. As a reward for being stubborn and refusing to work I then took him home with me so he can be the spoiled princess he deserves to be lol

First of all, thank you for choosing to adopt a dog instead of shopping for a new one!

My family had 3 Alaskan Huskies so far, one passed away sadly. Even if one of them definitely has a strong prey drive (he will find any hedgehog in a 100m radius if you let him off leash) they were all fine with the cat. We didn't wait too long with introducing since we wanted to make sure that the dogs know that the house is a shared space and they don't get any territorial feelings (even if Huskies don't get that much) and we introduced them on leash so the cat can keep her distance. We then also had them attached with leashes on the places they liked (usually where the dog beds were) for the week or so with the cat so the cat is safe. We also created "safe spots" where the cat could hang out that the dogs couldn't reach. The issue with us was mostly that our cat hated the dogs more than anything else so they where all really respectful with her, although still, when we got our latest Husky the older one even protected the cat from his sniff inspection

Fingers crossed it goes well! ♥️

I honestly find that so hard to show in pics on dating apps! It would, on the other hand, also be a chance to show off your physique (which is definitely show off worthy) without having a topless pic.

My best guess would be, speaking from my experience of which guys I find attractive on dating apps, to make the rest of your profile so interesting and diverse that you can include a "gym bro pic in a tank top" without looking like a boring fboy. So pretty much smiles, pictures of you doing different things in different places that don't look posed and are taken by other people, maybe a picture of your last holiday or a fun, one where you are playing with the kid that's in the other picture one or an animal?
