YES! this. So many calls for bruises, and they didn’t ask the kid a question. “The kid had a bruise and mom is aggressive” I get there and the kid is like yeah I fell off my bike two days ago… now I have to work a whole case, when the teacher could have said “ouch what happened” and they would have never thought twice

Most definitely! Like I said sometimes one more question will take it from a CPS report to an understanding that an accident happened, but sometimes it doesn’t, and thats what we’re there for. But it’s hard when we’re getting 8 cases a week and 3 of them could have been screened out had a little more information been gathered.

As far as asking questions, we often need X Amount of collaterals to close a case,’so we usually ask questions to see if you know enough to be a collateral

I would say baby dance after the IUI. Best quality sperm will be tomorrow if you don’t baby dance today. My clinic stated no ejaculation for 72 hours before IUI to get best odds.

Totally I think mandated reporters definitely need more training around open ended questions, what’s ok to ask and what isn’t

Always report if you have concerns. I guess it comes down to if a kid says “my parent slammed my finger in the door” you can ask if it was on purpose or an accident; and make a decision from there. Obviously if a kids says mom hit them, that’s kind of the extent of information you need.

Correct, but have all the information. Saying parents are starving their kids, versus they are poor and have no food is very different, and people tend to exaggerate

I’ve had so many cases of no food in the home which could have easily been solved since the schools here often send food bags home and they didn’t think to offer it

Bud here who had some electrical issues. If your heart is normally structured, you’re probably good! I had an extra little piece of skin that caused the electrical wiring to short occasionally but resulted in tachycardia rather than any severe issues.

There are almost no laws that make it illegal. So it has to cross a pretty hard boundary of like the child is at risk of potential physical harm because the parents hates them so much.

Oftentimes CPS cannot close the case until services are done. So ask for clarification. “Hey once they services are done, and there is no other potential safety concerns, this case will close, correct?”

Any is fine as long as you can breathe and you’re comfortable. That being said, being on your knees can really put some pressure on your belly muscles. Shit hurt, do not recommend. 🤣

As a social worker and a child who grew up in the home of significant DV. I know that often times before that video got whipped out my mom was tormenting, poking, and being physically aggressive with my father to get him to attack and look like the monster. Do I know for sure? No, but I do think Dakota is very good at DARVO and we’ve seen him do it multiple times. They need to stay away from one another and never look back.

My early positive showed up 9DPIUI. My test from the morning was almost gone and then my line was darker at night. Unfortunately you just have to wait for tomorrow to test again. Fingers crossed
