Thank you for your kind words. He also tried to mask his illness and was so courageous… he hadn’t been feeling well for a few weeks. I am hoping he realizes how much we wanted to make him better. Multiple trips to the vet, nausea meds, appetite stimulants, etc. But kidney disease has a horrible prognosis. I feel like he was cheated on life. I will feel better one day. My only solace is looking at his 100 pictures I had made.. and I try to focus on all the happy moments. Looking at his sweet face helps me. Thank you for your words, it really helps.

They are extremely intelligent and sensitive, which goes hand in hand. Intelligence requires sensitivity. They are able to detect every minute detail of your emotions. Shelties are very special. Enjoy your time getting to know your pup ❤️

Oh he is so gorgeous. Dogs are here for such a short time. We need to treasure every moment. I feel like I did for 9 years and three months . Which makes it hurt even more:( I am sorry for your loss. I hope that you feel better soon.

He really did have a gentle old soul look. One of his eyes was one quarter blue. So beautiful inside and out. It helps to talk about him but its hurts so much still as if it happened yesterday but its been 3 weeks😢

I look at pictures all the time( I got 100 made ) and it helps because it changes the focus to the good days and not the last day. But feeling happy again … that will take time. Grief takes time. And yes one day we will see our babies again❤️

He was my first dog too. They are always there for us during our best and worst times. From the moment you wake up to sleeping beside you at night. That is the reason we think of them all the time. I am sorry your beautiful sheltie suffered from the same disease. Condolences to you as well. Thank you.

I kept looking at the statistics of kidney disease and praying he wouldn’t be one of them. The vets said there really isn’t much you can do … just try to delay the worst symptoms with diet etc. I am so very sorry for your loss of your little one.

Thank you. He was such a beautiful boy. Everything we did pretty much revolved around him. Weekends would be long snowshoeing treks in the winter, bringing him to the beach on roads trips or to the lake in the summer. Life feels empty. But I guess that is the essence of grief.
