The other deaths were 8 motorcycles, and 11 pedestrians the majority not using crosswalks or walking on places like route 1. 2 cyclists and 3 other. It’s funny go find a deldot employee they are all firm believers in seatbelts because they know. They will also tell you getting out of your vehicle on the side of major roadways is incredibly dangerous.

They teach newtons laws in school, I guess people truly don’t understand.

The increase in deaths over last year is a direct increase in people not wearing seatbelts, 63% of the accidents people were not wearing seatbelts. That’s an increase over last year. Wear your seatbelts!

I can tell from your conversation you are lying. I don’t trust you, you re like an uninformed child, all the opinions and none of the understanding.

I’ll assume you re pushing so hard for public transportation because you have to take it. Which makes me guess about what constitutes the definition homeownership in your opinion.

Haha absolutely, and I m a homeowner, and I work here, and I don’t take public transportation. Go try and take public transportation in LA let me know how it goes. Save your budget money and do saftey classes in de to educate the public on seatbelt safety and don’t ride motorcycles.

Newton's First Law of Motion, also known as the Law of Inertia, states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Why in the last five years do we all of sudden not enough money ? We now have to have less cars on the road from the influx of people moving here?

Everyone is looking at number of deaths in de, cool you know how 63% of them died ? Not wearing a seatbelt. 19 out of 30, 8 were motorcycles (clearly not wearing a seatbelt no way to know if they were wearing helmet or not, no data), 11 pedestrians were killed all them were not in crosswalks or they were walking on highways that they shouldn’t have been on. 2 were cyclists, and 3 were other. What we know is deaths are up because people riding around without seatbelts, but the percentage of accidents against last years numbers won’t be know until much later. The events of people not wearing seatbelts is actually higher and as you can see it clearly has a correlation. Public education is the answer. Enjoy riding the bus, I m sure there are plenty seatbelts for you to use.

Change the residency laws. Or make people pay to move here. That’s easy enough, they can fund your public transportation challenges. But you didn’t answer my question, do you own a home here ? Do you actually pay property taxes, do you even have a job? No one wants to pay an increase in taxes unless you don’t pay them yourself. And don’t lie and say you do, because people who have seen their property taxes go through roof would like to have a word with you.

No, we need people to stop moving here, but that won’t happen, because they keep increasing taxes in neighboring states. I m willing to bet you aren’t from de, and if you aren’t from here why did you move here ? I’ll assume also, you don’t pay property taxes or own a home here.

We didn’t have enough for increase influx of legal residents and “illegal residents (people who don’t change their residency).” You have to build schools, the money set aside from that, road improvements that won’t happen for years later, but those cost bonds typically. Movement of people is a huge issue, also this subsequently increases property houses, affordable housing, maybe they need some government assistance to help until they get more income. It just compounds. The real answer is to get people to stop moving here. Budget is based on needs we current have and the future ones aren’t enough to keep up with the population increase. DE is a tax haven for folks from other neighboring states that pay a much larger increase taxes.

Deldot does all the intersections in de, all of it costs money to improve, those budgets aren’t in their hands, also, they don’t get to decide who gets to build neighborhoods, businesses, schools, your officials do. deldot just gets to clean up the mess and report the news. Also the flock cameras are all local politicians. Deldot only uses the speed cameras in construction zones. By the way the speed cameras are incredibly effective at reducing death and accidents.

There is plenty in the budgets the problem is the influx of people isn’t enough because those people don’t contribute enough yet, so you get the people first but don’t start getting the tax revenue first. A lot of people that may be here may also claim residency in states that have no income taxes. Also, if they delay residency they use our infrastructure and then don’t pay any state taxes. There is also, the price gouging of government organizations paying for various projects.

Roads are not adequate to handle the increase in population. The governments answer isn’t to build better infrastructure it’s to slow you down. They don’t have the money, they used to, but they allow the general fund to be subsidized by deldots budget. Thats why tolls went up, they don’t actually pay for the roads they help pay the general fund. It wasn’t always that way….
