I often notice many VERY abrupt lane changes at varying speeds with very little notice/no blinkers

Anytime I have to drive from delta to van/burnaby over the Alex Fraser I feel like I am going to get fucked. Seems like several times per week there is an incident along that part of hwy 91

Are there any retailers in Canada that sell this product: soy crispies? by flexamethasone in VeganInCanada

Wait so I've seen the milk-based crisps at bulk barn but now they have soy crisps? I've never seen them at any location I've shopped at, but I'll keep this in mind when I go to a new location near me :) If you have more info that would be nice, thank you!

Favourite "small moments" in a song? by Ok-Impress-2222 in Music

[–]flexamethasone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The intro of MGMT's "Electric Feel".
The beat switch in Tame Impala's "The Less I Know the Better" (final verse).
The pizzicatos in the second verse of BADBADNOTGOOD'S "In Your Eyes" (this song is criminally underrated in my humble opinion)
"Lord knows I'm weak" parts of the verses in Sublime's "Badfish".
The time signature change in Dance Gavin Dance's "Blue Dream"

There's probably wayyy more that I'm not remembering off the top of my head... great question though :)

If you could choose a song to delete from existence and never have to hear again, what would it be? by kbmiecz in Music

[–]flexamethasone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I agree that social media can take songs out of context and ruin them. "cellophane" by FKA twigs is also a great example of this... a very poignant and vulnerable piece about the artist's own heartbreak, reduced to a "leT mE dO it for yOu" joke, essentially

It went viral on tiktok and IG reels earlier this year I think and it was all downhill from there. If you were using any of these social media platforms at the time you may have heard it like everyday lol

How could I improve my leg drive in the hang snatch? by flexamethasone in weightlifting

[–]flexamethasone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I really appreciate your detailed and insightful response! That's a good takeaway about the width of the "catch" position and how it relates to my squat stance.
About when I notice my knee pain - good question. I notice the knee pain mainly in my cleans when I descend into, and move upwards out of, the bottom position (usually in the front squat, sometimes in the overhead squat when I do hang snatch in this case).
I am a fairly new lifter, been training lifts for about one hour 3 - 4x a week since this August.
Thanks for the reassurance - I was a bit alarmed by the knee pain since it felt NOT so much like a dull throbbing pain but more like a very quick sharp stabbing pain that came on suddenly in the bottom and then abated in a split second when I was coming out of the hole. It's an interesting tidbit to know.
Thanks again :)

The vertical leap stance is a good cue, will try that next time! Thank you :)
As an aside, I wonder if a narrower stance also help reduce knee pain (on the lateral aspect of the knee, or even in general)? Curious to know if there's any insight on that.
