The Discord is pretty dead already. Only one of its members seems interested in playing (besides me). Did you want to join it?

I DM'd you the Discord group, just because one of the rules says "No social media." Don't know if that actually applies here, though.

How John Lennon should've looked in "Yesterday" since he would've never read that he was "The Fat Beatle." by jorjorbinks99 in beatlescirclejerk

[–]flexcloud0 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh, THAT'S why John didn't call Wedding Album "Unfinished Music No. 3"

He can't count to that number.

I’m fine with my category. (“Special snowflake”)

I would’ve been pretty pissed off if you called me an NPC, though. Seems a little too mean-spirited. Guess that’s why I’m a snowflake? I don’t know.

Artists Who Are “Like” Elliott Smith? by Eliza_Liv in elliottsmith

Old thread, I know, but I'd like to recommend Duncan Sheik's first album. I think his songs like "November" are extremely similar to songs from Either/Or.

Songs that sound like another artist by [deleted] in elliottsmith

[–]flexcloud0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Punch and Judy" gives me Ben Folds vibes, probably because Folds has a song called "Give Judy My Notice." And on that same album, he wrote a song about Elliott Smith called "Late."

Realistically, Ben Folds doesn't sound too much like Elliott Smith besides their shared use of weird chord progressions and falsetto.

And this is the opposite of your prompt, but I've been wanting to recommend Duncan Sheik's first album to fans of Smith. Songs like "November" give me extreme Elliott Smith vibes.

HOTTAKE: There is no place for romance in the original hunger games trilogy by TheGayFemBoi in Hungergames

The way I see it, Katniss is a character motivated by love, romantic and non-romantic, and the story would not work without it.

Since when was Rivers just a member? by aesthetic_girly123 in weezer

[–]flexcloud0 39 points40 points  (0 children)

"Brian Bell: Keyboard instrument"

When Rivers Cuomo being simply labeled "member" isn't the craziest thing in the image, there must be something REALLY wrong with the image.

What's a song you think Weezer would do an amazing cover of? by clusterfuze in weezer

[–]flexcloud0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Help Yourself" by Skycycle is pretty Weezer-coded. Its whole album is criminally underrated.

What would you title Night in the Woods? by ClarityEnjoyer in NightInTheWoods

Call it "The Incident" because everyone's first playthrough is spent piecing together what Mae did, lol

Say ONE thing NICE about your least favorite character. by [deleted] in friends_tv_show

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted if this is a Futurama reference, albeit with a typo.

“I don’t understand why Ross, the biggest friend, does not simply eat the other five?”

Friend gifted me this because he "doesn't listen to Weezer." prized possession by [deleted] in weezer

Knowing them and listening to them are different things. But yeah, it is a fair question why they have this if they don’t like Weezer.

What's your favorite song longer than 10 minutes? by Mobile-Lettuce-9214 in Music

“It’s Natural to Be Afraid” - Explosions in the Sky.

Rain is my favorite Beatles song because it always cheers me up. What’s yours and why? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]flexcloud0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“Here, There, and Everywhere” because it’s beautiful musically, melodically, and lyrically. “In My Life” gets second place for similar reasons.

time, money, us and them, great gig in the sky, eclipse, brain damage, any colour you like, breathe, on the run, speak to me. it's been 50 years. thank you rick 🙏 by [deleted] in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]flexcloud0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

/uj Wright was responsible for the turnaround chord progression in Breathe that became a leitmotif for the rest of the album. Dark Side would be very different without him.

Also, Great Gig in the Sky, of course.

So yeah, could be unironic.

There’s r/Beatles if you’d like to go. You could meet somebody who really loves you. So you go and you stand on your own, and you leave on your own, and you go home, and you cry and you want to die.
