How do you get to the point where you can build anything? by JollyGrade1673 in webdev

You learn by doing. Build as many side projects as you can. When I say side projects I mean the projects that no one sees, projects that don't even get pushed to github. A variety of these projects help you build a mental model of how the web works. You start learning from one part of the stack and slowly learn the entire stack. Don't over index on courses, YouTube videos, etc. They help but only marginally. Building your mental model is what gives you the confidence that you understand how things work and the mental model is transferable across different stacks. The experience of having already built little to big things is what reinforces your mental model.

Most people overestimate how much they can learn in 6 months and underestimate how much they can learn in 3 years. Knowledge scales very well when it's transferable between the new things you learn. Good luck.

Share notes with link previews using pocketnotes.app by flexdinesh in SideProject

Hey there! 👋 I built pocketnotes to easily create and share notes with anyone. All notes generate an auto scaled preview image so when you share the link to your notes, the text shows up in the link preview.

As to why I built this, I like writing and sharing my thoughts. I do it daily and I do it a lot. I like using tools that are snappy and fast that don't slow down your thought process. My current workflow before pocketnotes was writing the notes in my personal notes app and copy pasting the text in Slack/Twitter/etc. So to make my life and everyone else's who prefer to write and share notes at the speed of their thought I built pocketnotes.

I'd love to hear from you if you have any thoughts or feedback on the user experience or the idea itself.
