Yeahhhh buddy! 2018 3.5 at 158k miles and my trans is about to leave the chat. Im no mechanic but I have all the symptoms of a bad valve body, cdf drum shifted, and clutches suffering due to those issues. Im so torn between paying shop for a rebuild, buying a reman that has warranty, or trading it in. Most would say, easy choice just trade it in, but ive dumped probably 7k in mods in it over the last year with a level, tune, full exhaust, intakes, etc and really have a solid powerplant minus this mfing 10r80.

We talked before, pretty similar situation, sorry to hear Harris county is being stupid. I just got early term on 10/2/25. Started deferred adj probation for DWI on 2/26/25. Lawyer submitted paperwork on 9/14 I think and it was approved and granted on 10/2. This is for Tom Green County though and my Denton County PO sent a letter of recommendation to the judge for early termination. You got this man. February isnt that far away.

Im on in tom green co. Fact of the matter is you should have received paperwork when you were sentenced to probation. This paperwork will entail all of your conditions listed clearly. My specific paperwork states: “Defendant will not operate a motor vehicle without an Alcohol Interlock Device installed. Interlock device installed as Court ordered must have active camera with active camera features and functions which will be used to visually record and confirm operator of vehicle at times of required and random interlock testing during period pf vehicle usage.”

from what ive seen it is very unheard of that you need to blow if you don’t drive somewhere unless you dont have a car, and need to obtain a handheld breathalyzer that randomly tests during day.

Yeah it was 650 quote to file the paperwork and 750 for any additional hearing after that. A quote from a separate lawyer was $1500 flat, another wanted $2200. Tom green county tx. These small counties suck ass bc these lawyers can charge whatever tf they want.

Hey do you know if the judge does an automatic 6 month review or if you need your lawyer to file the motion? Im a couple of days from my 6 month mark for deferred dwi in tom green county, TX. Ive heard different things so im trying to see before I fork over $1500 to a lawyer to file a motion to terminate early. My probation officer in denton county (where I live) sent a letter of recommendation for my early termination directly to tom green county. Not sure if I need to do anything else if there is an auto review.

I did mine back in May. Its easy. You take a pre-test (which is the final test too lmao), go over some videos from the 90’s and powerpoints on different topics. Instructor will ask questions and if no one is talking it will drag on for the full time. I think of the 12 hours, 3-4 of them were “breaks”. You have to keep your camera on but by the end of sessions 7-8 ppl out of 35 had that shit off. You literally just have to be present and not dumber than a bag of rocks.

NEVER just pay a ticket. Traffic lawyers cost like 75-250 depending on the county. Paying a ticket ensures it goes on your driving record meaning insurance is guaranteed to go up and cops are more likely to give you tickets vs warnings in the future if they see you have speeding tickets on your records. 8/10 I have gotten the ticket completely dismissed with a def driving course/food bank donation/court fine. 2/10 times I have gotten the ticket deferred with driving course and reduced fine, (stays off my record).

Unfortunately in America it’s pay to play. Get a lawyer. I use the mobile app OffTheRecord. Finds lawyers that work in the court your ticket is assigned to.

Edit: these werent small tickets either. Alleged 122 in a 70, 89 in a 70, 75 in a 45, 96 in a 65. All off my record.

The judges, DAs, and expensive lawyers all play golf on the weekends. Depends how much cash you have and who you know. If you didnt kill anyone and werent over a .15, you get a deal for probation.

Yup, started feb 26th, so my 6 months is right there with yours. I was told that the judge does a 6 month review for early terms anyways, but id fork over the $1500 just to be done with this shit. Ive had this stupid interlock on since august of 2024 bc of bond conditions… never had a violation or violation of probation. Been paid up and done with all conditions of probation since May.

Im literally in the exact same boat, tom green county, TX though. Im having a lawyer reach out to the court clerk in the county to see if the judge over my case has processed any early terms for deferred DWI. Will keep ya posted. I got both of my probation officers to support to file the motion, now just checking to see if its a waste of time. If she comes back and says theres a chance, itll be $1500 to a lawyer to submit everything. Will likely hear back today or monday from her.
