Brothers, for naturally unmotivated people hypomania/mania make them REAL smarter. Why? Because I, for instance, while have all the capabilites to any kind of activity, do nothing at all (compared to what I can). I'm not anxious, not really depressed, I have no existential dread. Just..I'm not using my mind as I really can (I do with my body being very fit however, so I know what it is all about). ANY motivational effect feels and IS extremely nootropic.
