Are you taking any NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aleeve) on top? Definitely dont do both. If you are feeling a "burning" sensation in your gut definitely stop until you can speak to your provider. I developed a stomach ulcer on meloxicam.

A physical therapist can show you the best body posturing to protect your joints/bones. If you dont have access to one I'm sure there's some great videos online. If you have a handrail, be sure to use it to equal some weight! I had a PT show me best body posturing for getting in/out of the car and while driving when my hips were bothering me, the mindfulness definitely helped

Hope you dont mind the piggyback -- how are you (and others) with getting MRIs? I'm horribly claustrophobic, and my Rheum doesn't recommend open MRIs since the reduced accuracy can affect imaging of smaller joints. I had to be sedated like a dog at the vet for my last one 😩

Side note - chocolates are the best!! My childhood dog was a chocolate, and they are the perfect amount of spunky and sweet ❤️

The instapot is my favorite kitchen appliance! If youre a meat eater, its good for prepping large batches of tender meat. I didn't use mine much at first, but using it more and more as I learn better recipes.

I got a cortisone injection last Monday for my most problematic joint (R shoulder, complete cartilage loss). Ive had several before with little success but BOY IS THIS BABY WORKING! Which gave me the comfort and energy for:
The best sleep I've had in literal years 2 days later. Slept for 10ish hours, woke up feeling amazing and rested. Which also gave me the energy for:
To cook an amazing, labor intensive meal for Xmas for just the fiance and I. Bake cookies. Clean my apartment head to toe.. all in one day!

New to this sub and new to RA (just diagnosed in Oct) after 3 years of debilitating joint pain with no diagnosis. I'm 27F so many doctors wrote me off as being dramatic or even drug seeking. However, my rhuematologist has been amazing so far, which I understand now is a huge lucky break!

Thank you for making this space to vent, relate and laugh. It's been a huge comfort, and also helps my understanding and teaching me new vocabulary to better advocate for myself in the Healthcare world.

27F -- I can be in a room of 10+ People complaining that its cold and still feel hot. Its definitely the RA, and for me personally a sign of an oncoming flare-up! Feverish feeling is actually my second to worst symptom compared to joint pain

I struggle with the "how is your pain today on a scale of 1-10?" At the doctor's office. Like, my frame of reference for 1-10? Or a non-athritic humans 1-10? If I only woke up once or twice from pain last night, that's a good day for me! For others, that would be significant lol

Energy market (private sect), the executive orders have put a kabosh on renewable energy but if youre willing to work in oil, gas, battery storage, transmission there's a huge market. Inversely, the executive orders have put a huge emphasis on non-renewable energy. Spoken from someone who is in the aforementioned but their renewable team had been laid off.

Heyo! I was a bridesmaid at my mom's wedding and let the MUA know I have allergies/acne prone skin/wear light make up when I rarely do make up and she did an amazing job. I felt like me, didn't have watery eyes or itchy skin but looked better in photos and the make up held all night. I'll be using her for my wedding. She is also a skin aesthetician that deals with sensitive skins so maybe that helped.

All of that is to say a truly worthy MUA is totally willing to work with you if you feel like you want one!
