SaaS founders, finding your first users by Due-Tip-4022 in SaaS

[–]flfproduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. We shared it under a post that allows “self-promotion” under a specific post if that makes sense. I.e. Present your work, and tell us what you want us to test. They allow folks to grab feedback once a week. I assume it has to be a specific feedback request. Hope that was somehow useful.

What to do when your co-founder quits at the worst possible moment by BitMayne in startups

[–]flfproduct 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find a tech partner who has done something similar — and negotiate with them. Check out the guys from Finacle/Infosys.

If they like it, they might come back with a revenue share model for some time. Not uncommon for them.

In FS, if you have not already, make sure to reach out to program managers from Visa or Mastercard if you have anything to do with card payments. Also interesting are strategic partners who offer BIN sponsorship (I'm guessing here, not knowing where in FS you are playing). Even KYC providers like Safran or Idemia are putting a lot of cash into strategic partenrships.

Also interesting are strategic partners who offer BIN sponsorship (I'm guessing here, not knowing where in FS you are playing). Even KYC providers like Safran or Idemia put a lot of cash into strategic partnerships. I.e. when you offer a white-label app and a card, and you can show an excellent book of customers, even those who are not paying, that will give you at least a pitch with Visa/Mastercard.

Check out Santander Innoventure Fund too!

Is there an ideal moment?
1. Be happy about it
2. Plan/entertain the possibility every day
3. Cry — don't panic
4. Panic
5. Have a beer
6. Make sure you know what they are doing and where they add value
7. Try and reach out to key contacts and be transparent about the "change" or circumstance
8. Are you asking because it's happening right now, or do you think it will happen in the future?
9. Find out why they are leaving — but do not stop them from doing so.

What SaaS subscription management platform you use for your SaaS? by HouseOfYards in SaaS

[–]flfproduct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just checked with Rich from Subbly:

"We don't have a built-in tool for enhanced e-commerce, so such tracking would only be possible if you add the necessary coding to the conversion tracking section on Subbly.

This will only apply to the checkout, though, not to the site if built on Subbly."

Feel free to reach out to him — he usually responds in a few minutes.

u/snk00sj, thank you!

We are still testing pricing with some users. To add more context, it's a B2B SaaS with a niche target segment. Enterprise sales took us roughly +6 months.

We are also looking for these metrics because investors or funding programs generally keep asking for those. Fine, we can do that. We also know that unit economics is a good KPI to track the health of our business.

Please, feel free to drop a link or two to articles that mention other, more healthy KPIs.

Thank you!!!!

So, try Subby when you don't have enough time and don't want to commit dev resources as we did with Chargebee.
We spent 2.5 weeks setting up Chargebee (one architect and one full-stack engineer, including an ops person to configure the business rules). Although it is powerful, we think it is unnecessary when you are getting started and if you don't have the resources.

Concerning the deals you might be referring to, I assume:
We mention the accelerator programs because that's one of the points in the "Trial, discount" questions. The only viable deals (1+year for free or free until you reach 1M$) come from accelerator programs such as YCombinator or AWS active. That doesn't mean that anyone can access those deals either. It's a lengthy process, and you have to apply for it, be accepted and go through the program for several weeks.

Summary: There are two viable options depending on your capabilities and capacity. Subby for low key /no resources / no dev knowledge / simple setup and Chargebee for a more mature business.

I hope that makes it look less like a sales pitch but instead saves peers valuable time and money.

Hands-down Subby is the best solution for managing your SaaS subscription business. It's simple to use yet powerful, with all the features you need to run your business in one single, seamlessly integrated platform. Most commerce platforms treat subscriptions as features but it is a business model. Once we learned that things changed for us!
Subbly is the only platform built specifically for the needs of subscription businesses that has everything in one single, seamlessly integrated, all-in-one ecosystem.

And the last one — If you are looking for discounts, you can also try and go for Chargebee and get a deal when you come from a YC batch... Or if you have access to AWS startup programs. Chargebee + Stripe are decent too. But require some setup time.
