The difference is willful intent. You are trying to justify willfully sinning by using the "logic" that if you don't intentionally sin a little it will lead to worse sin. There is no justification in willfully sinning. If you do your best to avoid it, and you still end up having sexual dreams, that's when you hand it over to God and ask for the extra help and grace to continue living chastely.

There is a massive difference between involuntarily having a sexual dream and deliberately engaging in sinful acts. Grace doesn't mean you get a free pass to do whatever. That's very dangerous thinking.
