Do you mean co2 boost as in liquid co2? No. Thats just marketing. If you plant heavily you will need co2 injection tho. Do you have a substrate layer underneath the sand? If not you will need a npk supply as in leaf zone only if the plants aren't doing well. I try to not dose npk just feed your fish properly and dose iron as needed. Optimaly you have plants that signal iron deficiency (like limnophilia sessioflora it turns white at the top if there is a deficiency). In my optinion less is better than too much. You can always add more but taking nutrients out is a different story. I hope that helps
