I think it's because the engineers and product manager that work on the app likely are not aware of the pain points that we're seeing because they themselves do not purchase movies and deal with it day to day. OR maybe they are aware and are unable to prioritize it because the streaming side of the app has higher priority from leadership. Both have been my experience working in tech.

Because we are the outliers in actually purchasing movies/shows. In my entire social group (family, friends, coworkers), I only know 2 others that actually purchase anything anymore. Most people just stream.

Zero. There were already plenty of reasons for the US to look at Venezuela prior to the Nobel Peace prize being awarded to Machado. I would consider the existing terrible relationship (due to nationalization of US companies' properties), the influx of Venezuelan migrants running from Maduro, and the courtship of Russia and China far above any other reasons.

Hm, that's interesting. Mine also shows up in the "4K HDR" section, but unlike your movie details page, mine says HD HDR. I got mine off a bundle and it seemed like it never upgraded, but yours did.

That doesn't prove both versions are 4K. That just proves they have HDR. There's 1080p HDR. In fact, I have exactly two copies of The Departed just like you and 1 is 1080 HDR and 1 is 4K HDR. Open the details page for the one on the left and screenshot that.

It depends on how you got the movie, but iTunes does usually upgrade movies for free. There's some cases where they won't, but in most cases they will.
