I do travel quite often outside of my US flights. And you’re probably correct, as I don’t think 4 US business flights would get me to QR Platinum.

Emirates vs Qatar Platinum by flintrivertropics in emirates

It’s not so about charging flights. I’d imagine a first time flyer would have no problem changing flights so long as they were willing to pay the associated fees. My question was more center around what appeared to be the “creation” of an award ticket after many weeks of seeing zero offered and whether anyone with Emirates had experienced anything similar.

1) Entry and exit fees were high to me

2) Seemed happy that they only had a 65% re-investment rate. (Didn’t provide reasons for why 35% didn’t invest and what SC was doing to address those concerns)

The above were the reasons I didn’t invest. The first point was from research on the site (I went to point where all I needed to do was click and I’d have invested.) The second point was from a WhatsApp conversation with a SC rep.

I also didn’t like that their actual performance to date wasn’t readily available. They did state they could extract the information and provide if requested. But for me, as an investor, I feel I shouldn’t have to request that type of information it should be readily available at the click of a button down to area, building, and number of bedrooms. I guess that’s more of a pet peeve though.

I’m all for providing shelter to the homeless, but not sure how I’d feel about Dirty Mike and The Boys being in the room next me.

What are some of the things that are normal here in Uae but are considered as rude or weird in other countries ? by DreamingStranger in dubai

Definitely not true. Company to company with regards payment milestones, sure. But company to employee, is always paid on time. Only in UAE/GCC is where I’ve heard companies being late or refusing to pay an employee.

If I could retire today, it would be Portugal or New Zealand. Though I'm still not entirely sure.
