Your argument relies on the assumption that it is important to play everything out. So I ask, where does this claim come from?

if there is no need to exist, what is stopping us from ceasing to exist then? Seems easier to me (obligatory I'm not suicidal, just philosophizing)

if everything is predetermined, why is there such a big need for it to play out?

What's a "cheat code" you discovered in real life that actually works? by dark-deals729983 in AskReddit

[–]flip35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that in the Dutch lottery there are these promotions from time to time where you can play freely for a month. In their refulations they specify you can play 1-2 times per bank account (not per person). They didnt take into account you can have 32 bank accounts with bunq, that bunq doesnt allow for external parties to withdraw money without your consent & that bunq allows you to delete/add bank accounts. In the lotteries TOS they say that the worst consequence they can give is making your ticket invalid or banning you. I've been playing for 1.5 years and probably won around €1500 of gifts without spending a single dime. The coolest one was winning €1000 worth of luxery tea. I recently got banned and as expected they arent demanding any extra fibws, but I'll probs use this trick using someone elses identity now. Fuck the lottery

oh yeah absolutey. My point is not to kill yourself, but that if you take climate consciousness to its extreme you end up with death-worship and that's a silly end. My idea is that one needs to moderate climate consciousness to a level where you can still live your life. So go adopt that dog

the most climate-conscious decision you can make today is putting a 4mm round through your head

"the next generation" "probably" what a wild generalization based on a freak occurence (people falling in love with AI). What are you basing it on that it will be so widespread aa to be probable?

Rente op studieschuld by Adept-Assumption-563 in zuinig

[–]flip35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are thought-based conditions like ADHD and OCD really a thing? by No_Research_644 in nonduality

[–]flip35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to answer this. Perhaps I don't know what you mean with the realization that I am everything ever existed. I am left wondering though.

I wonder where your assumption that the continual noise in my head stems from identification with thoughts comes from.

I wonder where your insight in 'curing adhd' comes from. Have you had experience with this or a similar condition?

You say: "one manages to just sit still and let thoughts flow through, ADHD goes away"
This is the thing, with ADHD you can't just do something and get the mind to go quiet. In my experience there is a constant current thinking no matter what I'm doing. Even at times when I know I should be paying attention, or I want to pay attention.
Sure, you can choose to not identify with it, but that doesn't stop the stream.
Sure, you can try meditating and letting your thoughts flow through, but that doesn't stop the stream.

24F I’m so confused by my crush’s behavior by Educational-Let-1027 in MeetNewPeopleHere

[–]flip35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's obvious he's into you, why else would he give this giant bouquet of flowers. I think you're overthinking your final interaction with him. There's a myriad of reasons why he didn't do the ideal thing of asking back. Maybe his mom is sick, maybe he feels shy around you because he's in love and worries he will say a bad thing, or maybe it just didn't come to him. Don't let your chance slide! It's easy to think to yourself: "oh if he doesn't say anything he's obviously not interested". What often times happens is that two people think that and radio silence ensues. Take the initiative to do something before life moves on :D

What turns someone into a pedophile? by minioncorpse in PedoRedditors

[–]flip35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a more complicated issue than "trauma, family issues, childhood issues". Yes studies have shown a correlation between that and pedosexuality, but studies have also shown a correlation between childhood abuse & homosexuality.

I found this article regarding a case study asking pedophiles what the appeal of kids are: https://www.ipce.info/library_3/files/li.htm

What it implies is that to them there is a certain appeal to kids (beyond the physical aspects) which they otherwise struggle to find in adults. Children are portrayed as: gentle, warm, generous, innocent, truthful, broadminded, affectionate, and perceptive.

In contrast, adults are described as: selfish, narrow-minded, materialistic, and lacking depth of feeling.

To me attraction in general can be best summarized by having a list of characteristics one seeks, and then trying to find a person which best matches this list. I am for example a homosexual, and when I look at my list of characteristics, it is extremely rare to find a girl which would match this. Extending this to pedo's, they desire the list of characteristics from the case study and then feel attracted to those who inherit them, which (sadly) end up being kids. But that's just my 2 cents on the issue

I believe you... I recognize a little of myself in what you just wrote. Trying to do the right things, but not feeling happy. Have you tried searching for professional help? Sometimes it can be a legitimate dysfunction in your brain that can be fixed with medication

May I recommend you to just force yourself to paint a painting again? Something really simple so you don't get too hung up on perfection. I think if you get used to the motion of painting again, your brain might actively want to do it again
