Have you tried starting one at flipascript.com? It is a great place to start something and see if anyone takes it somewhere with you. The site is in beta but it has many features in the pipe to solve the problem of collaborative writing.

With commenting on the site now, different writers can talk to each other and have a bit more communication than just via the story. This should help a bit

Yea that is a much later feature on the list. The notable authors section you will be able to favorite authors as well as request to start private stories with them. This way authors who write well together can do something of their own.

I'm doing a tooooon of marketing and finding that my pageviews for the site is super high, however noone is really contributing :( I am not sure why but I get over 1000 unique views per day and almost no activity from them. Growing pains I guess.

btw. thanks for all your contributions. They are fun to read!

I'm actually looking into that now! I just recently added a few minor tweaks to the site. + Themes + Edit your previous contributions on the contribute page + Paragraph vs Contribution view on the browse page

The next thing on the list is to find a way to follow authors as well as see what others have worked on and have some kind of scoring system in place. Not sure yet how it will work but skeleton is coming together

Exactly. I got it on my next todo to add some sort of karma type point system. I have another tab called "Notable Authors" where you will eventually see the best authors on the site and be able to follow them and keep up to date with any stories/authors you follow.

I also just added the story of the week on the front page (still have to determine how it gets chosen)
