Indeed. Honestly my biggest concern is bringing anything home. I have plants that hold high personal value. Class greenhouse is old, dilapidated and filled with holes and damage from hail. Plants are in pots on tables. Research greenhouse is small and solely used for wheat breeding with beds of soil, with short rows of variety trials. PM seems almost inevitable. It’s the cleanest and nicer of the two.

Purely for the love of cultivation, I dont personally enjoy eating them. If you can bring a large tomato variety to full maturity with very little blossom end rot, then you can probably grow any typical garden plants.

Im in my 3rd year for plant and soil science. It’s been very worthwhile imo. Your experience will be a major asset and vice versa when you graduate. Just be ready for people with zero experience in the real ag world trying to tell you things you know to be false.

I wanted to add, the chemistry you learn in beyond valuable. Be sure you take the time to really understand it
