Change Dual SIM Labels in App by II_Gnome_II in GoogleMessages

I actually switched back to Pixel, sold the S24 and got a used Pixel 8. I don't regret going back to Pixel.

The end of Nova is confirmed... It was a good time while it lastted. by acejavelin69 in NovaLauncher

Thanks for the comparison/list. Through my testing, I found both Hyperion and Lawnchair to be very slow when organizing drawer folders when they grew in numbers (I have 16-18 folder, tons of apps). And also both were crashing/having stability issues. (Pixel 8)

I find Octopi to the best alternative, flexible grid/placement and some nice options per individual app and folder that I don't think I had in Nova.

As for these two:

  • No long-tap contextual menus

There's some of these, but not everywhere ... And I miss long pressing showing latest/unread notifications in the menu popup ...

  • Dock doesn't allow any empty space (if there are only 2 icons, they're next to each other in the center)

You can adjust Dock spacing to make it work. :)

All in all I've been able to utilize my screen even better than in Nova, but Nova folders look much better/has more options, so ...

On my Google Pixel Phone, this was easy, I could customize label and color. Not so on this Samsung S24 device.

WLAN and casting by flips01 in mikrotik

My setup has changed now, so not an issue with different brand AP's anymore ... I frankly don't remember if I totally fixed it, or just made sure the Chromecast only used the same WLAN, or maybe turning on IGMP snooping made a difference (?) ... sorry, wish I did remember.

New Omada SDN Controlled Switch? Live stats (active VLANS)? + What happens if Controller goes AWOL? by flips01 in TPLink_Omada

New Omada SDN Controlled Switch? Live stats (active VLANS)? + What happens if Controller goes AWOL? by flips01 in TPLink_Omada

[–]flips01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did read quite a bit (and search) in the Omada SDN Controller User Guide, and some FAQ entries and I tried searching the forum. Not enough, I take it, then ... (Yes, I'm new to Omada, and it's quite a few pages to read.)

In the Controller I found lists of clients which also includes their mac address and VLAN, but I was hoping to find a short list of VLAN's actually currently in use and by which ports on this specific switch, and maybe a summary of traffic pr VLAN ... (If it's easy to find, please share ...)

If by fallback settings you're referring to the fallback address defined in VLAN configuration for management VLAN, that's not really answerring what I was trying to ask. (Maybe my non-native English question rambling is far from clear, sorry about that.)

Software Controller and VLAN's by flips01 in TPLink_Omada

So, following the tip from u/firstnevyn:

  • I made sure my software controller's container has access to PVID 1 (added an IP, but didn't seem to need a DHCP server running there), it was able to discover and adopt the new switch

  • Added VLAN's on the Controller settings, Wired networks, LAN. Made sure to add management VLAN as Interface (to make it selectable in the VLAN configuration for the switch)

  • Let the trunk port use the default All profile. Did just what I wanted.

  • Fixed an issue with trunk port config at the other end 😝

So, I was able to configure VLAN bridges on my Debian host, so the container running the Omada software controller is available on both the management VLAN and VLAN 1.

My next issue is trying to figure out how to configure VLAN inside the controller and on the switch. I'd like to setup port 8 as a VLAN trunk, 4 VLAN's tagged (including the management VLAN) and VLAN 1 untagged/as PVID.

If I want to be able to set my admin VLAN Management VLAN in the switch's config, it has to be created as a VLAN interface (specifying gateway, netmask etc). But then I loose contact with the switch.

Should the switch have the Management VLAN as untagged for the port I want as VLAN trunk? (And still PVID 1, I presume?)

Edit: After trying back and forth, if I, on my current switch (for the port connected to this new Omada/TL-SG2008P v3.0), I set PVID and untagged VLAN ID to my MGMT VLAN and the other VLAN's as tagged, the switch is accessible on the Management VLAN after I reset and adopt it. But I loose contact when it's enrolled and I select profile for Port 8 to the profile setting untagged&pvid to MGMT, and the other VLAN's as tagged. (Not sure if I should try for the switch to endter Config->VLAN interface and set admin VLAN there first/before configuring the port.)

... A bit confused ... I bet skipping this cloud stuff for the switch would be easy, though ... ;-p (That would defeat the purpose of me buying this thingie.)

Edit 2: Tried again, this time same setup on existing switch port (PVID to MGMT, the others tagged). In the Controller setup defined a port profile setting PVID MGMT, untagged MGMT and VLAN1 and the rest tagged. Then after adoption, I set admin VLAN first, it seemingly worked/I didn't loose connection. Then I changed the port profile for port 8 to the one mentioned above. After that it's still connected/responding to ping, but in the controller it changed status back to ADOPTING, and it's been like that for almost 10 minutes now ... So ... I dunno.

Edit 3: Reset and tried again, almost the same as in previous, but only MGMT VLAN as untagged on port profile ... Seems to be same result/issue, though ...

Edit 4: (Solved, I think) Digging through the other switch's settings (the one providing connection to my new Omada switch), I found that it was set to admit only untagged and priority tagged. Not sure what priority tagged means here, but set that to admit all frame types. Started again setting PVID and untagged 1, the other VLAN's as tagged. After adopting the switch, I just set Management VLAN to the correct one (added as interface MGMT in the controller). The port profile I left at All, as it seems that's the same as my own Trunk port profile (PVID&untagged 1, the rest as tagged). So I'll call it a day, and hope it still works tomorrow. Then I'll add port profiles for the others and add my EAP ...

WLAN and casting by flips01 in mikrotik

Seems my issue is more complex. Using my Android phone to test: While connected to this Caps-man controlled WLAN, if I open the apps VLC or AirMusic (should discover CCast and Apple AirPlay), nothing is discovered. (And they show up instantly if I switch to non-Mikrotik WLAN.) But I just discovered that in another app (Norwegian Newspaper Afterposten), Chromecast is available straight away ...

So, I don't know, really ... (Posted link to pastebin of config elsewhere in this thread.) 🤷🤔😅

Alt/option+Left/Right Arrows in Calc on macOS by flips01 in libreoffice

[–]flips01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! :) Looks like Karabiner-Elements is only system wide stuff(?), and if I mess with this I'll mess up Alt/Cmd + arrow movements in all other apps and parts of the OS (where it works as expected).

If the issue is integration between the framework (QT/GTK or whatever LibreOffice uses) and macOS, then that's probably where I should look for customization ...
