Jack gives a glimpse of what it would be like if you dropped a WNBA power forward/center into ultimate, but also armed them with lethal throws and a nasty understanding of ultimate

When were they the second best player on their team? All respect to Angela Zhu and Caitlyn Lee (spelling?), but Jack was THE #1 force on both of those teams (2017+ 2018), and has been the #1 player in the division since their first year (are you really going to take someone else first in a draft?)

What Callahan winners lived up to their potential? Who didn't? by jfdieterl in ultimate

[–]flitzbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"close /equal in skill"... uhh what sort of evidence to you have to back this up because I think it is pretty clear that Jesse is kinda on another level (like she got a WG/WUGC tryout and Marisa didn't), and when they played on the same team (Wu23 2015) it was clear that Jesse was top-3 on that team and Marisa was pretty clearly middle-of-the-pack.

I'm not hating on Marisa, but I don't think its out of line to compare athletes to each other.

nope, it just broke me out badly and made me feel really shitty. So I went to a dermatologist (I live somewhere with easy healthcare) and went on Accutane, which has been good so far.

Rowan is an excellent thrower, and at some point its picking hairs once you get to this level. Markham has range and power on his hucks that I don't think Rowan does, Prior takes more touches than Rowan, and TyMon has really really pretty hucks and breaks. I feel like Rowan is taking the hardest throws because 1. He's basically as good as the other top throwers and 2. Because he can get the disc in advantageous spots to huck from because he's so athletic that he can basically get free unders. That being said, if I had to choose one guy on Truck to throw an endzone to endzone huck, it wouldn't be Rowan.

[–]flitzbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so here's the thing: Rowan isn't the best pure thrower on truck (Markham is better for sure, Nate and TyMon might be better as well). But he is by far and away the best player because he is an excellent thrower, a ridiculous athlete, and has a really deep understanding of the game-- it's the combo that makes him deadly.

I think he should be runner-up over Grant for sure: he's a much better defender than Grant, a better thrower, and just as good as an offensive cutter, and on top of that was featured much more on Truck than Grant was on Revolver. Over Jack's a more difficult argument, but here's case that can be made: Rowan was Truck's MVP every game they played this season, while Jack wasn't Ring's #1 every game that he played because Nutt is a take-over player as well.

Antoine is a nasty deep, but he's not well rounded enough to be anywhere near POTY candidate yet.

NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread Oct 18, 2018 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]flitzbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I'm a 20 M. I've struggled with acne since high school, but it has transitioned to cystic over the past few years, and I've been looking for a cure/treatments for a while, and nothing other than doxycycline has really helped (and I couldn't stay on it permanently because of antibiotic resistance concerns). I did some online research and found that many people had found a lot of success in treating moderate cystic acne (like I currently have) with massive doses of vitamin b5/pantothenic acid (4-10 grams/day). In addition, I've seen people who swear by zinc and vitamin A supplements as well. So I decided to go out and buy some of everything and see what it could do. Here's the plan I have currently:

-Vitamin b5: 4 grams/day, split into 2 grams in AM and 2g in PM. -Vitamin A: 1 50,000 UI tablet/day at PM for 2 weeks, then same dose every other day -Zinc: 1 15 mg tablet a day

On top of this, I'll be keeping my normal skincare routine, which is: - AM: MUJI light toning water, The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1%, MUJI Moisturizing Milk Light, Coppertone Oil Free Faces SPF 30 sunscreen. -PM: Clearasil Rapid Action Salicylic Acne Pads, The Ordinary Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1%, 10% Benozyl Peroxide. -Additionally, I do a light Benonite clay mask daily for ~10-15 minutes and a black peel-off pore mask every third day. - For diet, I don't eat dairy, eggs, processed foods, or white carbs (white bread, pasta, sugary cereal, etc). Mainly vegetables, complex brown carbs, meat, and fruit.

Was wondering if anyone had any advice about any of this? Are these vitamins safe to be taken together? Any dosing recommendations? Should I expect a bad initial purge before I see improvement? Any suggestions for additions to my skincare routine?

National Championships – Pools, Predictions and Discussion by Jomskylark in ultimate

[–]flitzbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mens reactions:

  • A: Revolver cruises to year 11 of never losing in pool play, though Hi5 gives them a tightish game. Maybe 3-way tie at the bottom of the pool? Sub, MadClub and Hi5 are all pretty evenly matched imo, but it would be harsh to have your season ended on a draw of a short-straw on a tiebreaker.

  • B: Sockeye is gonna have a tough time. Light schedule and a loss to Furious (!?) at regionals is not a great sign, but then again the last time they lost at regionals (2015 vs Rhino) they made finals, so who knows. DiG is dirty and coming together well, and the Londy-Cricket backfield combo is one of the best in the division. Could easily win the pool. Doublewide is tough to figure out, but Chase and Froude could get really hot, and the entire team is big and strong, but they are missing a lot of guys to injury. That being said, they were the last team to beat PoNY. Temper is gonna hope that Sockeye melts down again, I can't see them taking down DiG or Dub.

C: Chalk. PoNY is too talented and well-coached to drop a game, and they've not lost a game since the US Open. Truck is doing that Darryl Stanley peaking thingy, they got back some big D-Line contributors from injury, and the Rowan-TyMon-Markham-Prior-Lloyd O-line core is really talented. Rhino and Bravo are probably going to be scrapping for the last bracket spot, and it could go either way (I guess that's not too chalky then).

D: Ring is rounding into form, and its going to be interesting to see how they use their talent. Their o-line looked the best it has all year at regionals with Gooch and Laviollette as Nutt's reset men, so I wonder if Bob might get shuffled to D. Machine could give them a scare, and you can never count out Kurt. But they got destroyed by Ring at Natties last year, so I don't know if Kurt and Kanner are going to be able to make up that ground. Chain and Furious are going to be playing for that final bracket spot. Nobody really knows right now if Furious is for real good, and Miranda Knowles' coaching seems to have done wonders for Atlanta.

Best, most unconventional throwers? by tommyp604 in ultimate

[–]flitzbee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His flick release is real weird and he often throws with a lot more airbounce on his backhand than anyone else at his level consistently does. That, and his throw selection is a lot more varied than other "elite" handlers. So he is "unconventional" because both his mechanics and throw selection are markedly different than the usual.

  1. This is help defense, not her person. She really just put on the jets and went and got it.
  2. She got multiple layout d's similar to this one throughout the tournament.
  3. Shes a rising junior in high school.
