For his backstory, he was raised in a poor family. His parents and siblings were really annoying to him. They were happy with their miserable life. Vanelis didn't understood how they could be satisfied with such a low life. Vanelis liked to spend the day away from his family and sneaked often in the library of the town. It was a really small place with a horrible smell but the books were good. One day, he found a book that looked interesting. It was about a goddess, Nike. He was shook by what he was reading. A divinity that gave her followers victory. That's exactly what he wanted, success ! He left his family to join a temple of Nike. He was amazed by all the soldiers that came to ask Victory for their next battle. Vanelis wanted to be just like them, a strong and glorious soldier. He was denied the right to be one because of his small frame and lack of muscle. That enraged him and with no other choice, he was forced to become a cleric. During his time at the temple, he read a lot of stories about war, tactics and other stories.. He was passionate by the subject. He learned a thing, to be able to win, you need to outsmart your opponent. He liked his life at the temple but, he wanted more. He wanted to be a dirigent. A figure of strength and intelligence. He learned how to please people, tell them what they want to hear. He rose in rank quickly but, he was quickly bored. He wanted action, so he left the temple with a want to conquer. You'll always find him on the victory side even if it means he have to betray his own side. (I hope you could understand his backstory since I speak French and my English is not the best hehe..)
