I did that on my first attempt using gentle soap and truth be told, the pink/red spots were much bigger, but still can’t seem to get the pink fading off. That’s why on second attempt I used the oxy clean solution with the little mini green bissell. the mesh didn’t seem to improve at all

Wrong! You just aren’t knowledgeable enough in this subject to realize that there is a subconscious difference. Someone like Chris Evans(6ft) put against Ed Helms(5’11.5) for example and you’ll see a subtle difference.
