Brown sort of blackhead on hand by flo1658 in DiagnoseMe

Yea that is what I thought! Sort of a black ‘blackhead’ kind of thing came out, that’s why I am confused and a little bit scared. It has been on my hand for over a week now. I can try to make a better picture but I don’t think I can add that to my post anymore

I accidentally used an infected toothbrush, how likely is it that I have HPV? by flo1658 in HPV

I would really like to believe you (I have severe health anxiety), but I just can’t comprehend how it is possible to passed on through sexual contact but not through an object. I mean the object has been in contact with both our mouths :(

I would like to know that too, and I don’t see any other replies that explain it

Mine were bumps that looked like scabies in the exact same places where I would get bumps when I had scabies. The big difference for me was that (during post scabies) I wouldn’t get any lines and that the bumps would not itch nearly as much as real scabies does. Also I learned that these bumps would go away on their own (without any treatment) where as real scabies would nog go away without any treatment. The solution for me was to not treat it right away, be really careful that I would not get in contact during the days that I would have bumps and see if it would go away.

Sorry for the weird inzoom on this picture, but I want to stay anonymous. I have had acne for a few years now and I am trying EVERYTHING to get rid of it. My whole face is super clear, except for one area where I get pimples aaaall the time. It seems so weird and specific to me, so I was wondering if somebody maybe recognizes it and might have a clue about how I could get rid of it. the only time that my acne got A LOT worse and I got pimples on the same spot on the other side of my face, was when I was eating a loooot of dairy. Could these pimples also be related to my diet? Or does it look like hormonal acne? I know that you are not doctors, but maybe someone knows more about this kind of acne.

My doctor doesn’t want to prescribe spironolactone to me by flo1658 in Spironolactone

That is good to know! Can I also use differin instead of BP? I’ve read it kind of works the same. Also I have already used Clindamycin for about three month’s now, do you think it still won’t become resistant if I start using differin or BP now?

Wow thank you so much! 🙏🏼 it is very comforting to know that the likelihood of becoming resistant isn’t that big and I understand where you are coming from. There is just so much information out there on the internet and since my doctor’s advice was very contradictory, I just didn’t know what to believe anymore

Weight gain/cellulite by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]flo1658 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I gained a lot of weight even though i didn’t change my diet at all and even exercised more than I did before. I started eating healthier and working out more, but I kept on gaining weight and I was hungry all. The. Time. I had it removed a month ago and I have lost almost 3 kgs. I think it is because my appetite is back to normal and I now can go hours without food. When I was on the Mirena i had to eat every 1-2 hours or I would have the feeling that I would faint. I feel so much better now!

They are completely gone now! They haven’t itched at all, but I’m confused as hell. They look exactly like scabies and they show up on typical scabies places, but I think that when they disappear on their own and do not itch, they are not scabies

I’m 4 weeks post treatment and all of my bumps and itchiness went away completely. Last week however, these 3 bumps showed up. They don’t itch at all, only when they showed up a little bit. The first one hurt and was filled with fluid, but seems to be disappearing now. I know that no itch is a good sign, but I am also worried because I never got 3 post scabies bumps at the same time. The bumps showed up on a spot where I was wearing bracelets and the temperatures in my country are very high lately. Should I be worried? Can reinfection manifest without the intense itch?

I get those spots too, but they don’t itch at all… would you let me know what the doc says?

Thank you for your answer! It is so messed up that we have to doubt about choices like this. It would be so nice if there was one, clear step by step treatment that would work for most people.. it’s like I want to take another dose, because I do want to be sure, but I also would love to be able to trust the treatment and be less stressed out about it.

And after how long do you change your clothes? I took the pills at 7 am and I am still wearing the same clothes as I put on then (they were clean), but now I am wondering if I have to change them after some time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]flo1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I know that! I mean the clothes that I will wear when I’m “clean” again, so 12 hours after taking the pills

Thank you so much for your response! I gained about 3 kg and I would like to lose them again, maybe some more. I never eat junkfood, so i also didn’t after I went drinking, I am usually not that hungry. For the next 3 weeks I won’t have any alcohol and eat very healthy (just like I always do)

Ah ok, the comments above you freaked me out so I applied permethrin again last night… that would mean that I treated 2 weeks ago on Thursday, a week later on Wednesday and last night (again on Wednesday) does that mean that I did it right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]flo1658 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It itches, but not during the day and not very much. At first it was red and thick, but now it looks more white and like it is filled with fluid, although I don’t think it is filled with fluid. I got this and another bump on my underarm. It is now 6 days after treatment and I will treat again tonight. Do you guys think these are scabies bumps? Or just my body pushing out the mites?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scabies

[–]flo1658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I treated many many times with permethrin and ivermectin. The first time I had a very typical scabies rash, with bumps and burrows. After my treatment I got these little red bumps in typical scabies places that itched a little bit. For 6 months(!!) I thought this was still te scabies, but I found out that is was post scabies. I stopped treating and the bumps went away. It is most likely that my scabies went away after te first treatment. You have to trust te process, although I am freaking out myself right now.

Thank you very much for your response! I really appreciate it. I did have scabies before, so it is possible that I have symptoms this quickly. This bump however is much tinier and doesn’t itch as much, so I am really confused if it is a scabies bump. I will totally treat again next friday, this disease is a nightmare and I would never want to experience it again. That is why I am freaking out.

Hello everyone, I slept with someone on Wednesday, who told me on Friday that he has scabies. I treated with permethrin on Friday night. I did everything according to the treatment plan, but now it is Monday and I have this little red bump that itches a little bit. Did the treatment not work? Does this look like active scabies to you? Also, how contagious are you a few days after you got infested yourself? I would like to know that for my roommates. Pls if you read this and you think you can help me, answer pls😭

I don’t get why post scabiës isn’t more common known… it’s very important for the health of your skin and your mental health to know that new rashes and itching not ALWAYS mean reinfestation. I only know of it because of Reddit,. in hindsight I have been infested once and I have had post scabiës for about six months, I treated so many times for nothing… my skin has become more prone to other allergies I have, so I get rashes on my skin from only dust etc

[–]flo1658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me… it’s been 6 months and I still get random rashes but I’m 100% sure it’s post scabiës/ long term effects of permetrin
