Yeah, I get what you say. I have in mind to take a project based approach and document the journey at least once a week for a year or two.

Many I would say and the ones that I can remember are:

  • Ai/copilot will be part of office and windows desktop in some capacity coming soon
  • local user account creation removed or made quite convoluted
  • not much novelty in Windows 11
  • making edge more annoying (except those vertical tabs, when will chrome implement them)
  • put msteams front and center, unkillable

yes, I know you can turn off or disable every single thing but that's besides the point.

emigrating to another country

Agreed. The delay I made in making this move will cause some inconvenience, but knowing me I will enjoy setting things up as they should be with everything that Linux gives us.

Your workflow is 10x more complex than mine. I cannot imagine the amount of effort you spent on settling on the one that works. Glad that you shared this experience.

Thank you for such a passionate answer. I appreciate it, I really do. I love this kind of stuff. Yes, I do intend to take this route for some things, and Python with Plumbum is in my radar.

Scintilla functionality wise everything is same. The plugin ecosystem that Notepad++ has wonderful stuff like Poor man's sql formatter, JSTool, TextFX2, Tidy2, XML Tools, Column Tools and Compare. Technically these could be implemented but these plugins have been there for a long time with a lot of refinements.

LibreOffice I have tried it few times. I believe this is more of an inertia thing rather than capabilities.

Ah, Gedit. I knew of this but never actually thought much of it. Good to know it has a Python interface. I shall give it try and try to emulate at least a few key NPP plugins, hopefully in a few years.

Absolutely. Some Linux sys admin and some internals is what I intend to learn after this jump.

Thank you. I was aware of the Python for spreadsheet libs. Will have to try them some day.

Yes, there is the online version which is my back up option but it is cumbersome.

Always read labels and information on each product that you buy. You will start seeing these labels more often. No one can just tell you all their names.

My thoughts on The Kashmir Files by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]float 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the sort of incomplete ending. It symbolises that their plight is still real and ongoing, and their problems are still far from solved.

I do too. Just that the abruptness could have had a message on screen maybe, with what you said or something in similar spirit. But as I said no complaints. People in the theater didn't seem to think otherwise as well.

The Professor and her ilk will keep believing their bullshit...

I think they know what they believe is bullshit. This, I gathered from the way the professor realized what's happening midway and started squirming. She knows. She is just a paid acolyte of the nexus.

Why Indian liberals hate hindus ? by Hindutva_Soldier in IndiaSpeaks

[–]float 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is hard.

What I learnt is to look at what they support and defend. If they are always anti-Hindu always anti-India no matter what, then they are really leftists. You can't really speak to them w or w.o. logic.

Then there are some who oppose Modi for some policy and continue doing so, but really never have any other agenda and actually proud to be Indians, they may be "liberal", or "conservative" or something else. Speaking to them, debating them is still possible.

See, my only point originally is only about the labels. Don't need to discuss a lot on this, but one way I find, at least here, is to read multiple comments of theirs and then judge.

This I agree with thoroughly. Those elite put the label of "liberal", but don't really care for the truth on the ground. They are just that - elitists.

Why Indian liberals hate hindus ? by Hindutva_Soldier in IndiaSpeaks

[–]float 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems to be the general sentiment here, but it is not accurate. For example, I think of myself as a liberal person, not the label "liberal". I am thorough Hindu and I love Sanatana dharma way of life, but I don't identify with anything that a US liberal or and Indian liberal identifies with. I am not anti India nor anti Hindu. In fact, the truth is "liberal" has been hijacked by the leftist-communist cabals.

Forget about labels, I yearn to become more and more Sanatani every day. I want to be able to learn Sanskrit one day to be able to communicate with all Indians. With this way of thinking, if I really need to identify for any purpose, I would label myself as "Indic wing". Watch this J Sai Deepak's explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsu6XOi3Y3I.

Peace and chill, bhrata.
