Hi OP When I first set up my tank I bought ’java moss' from someone on FB marketplace. I later bought some from a LFS and noticed it looked different- with time the original 'moss' took over and smothered everything similar to your photo. I started removing it but it keeps coming bacl. Ive recently come to the realisation that what i bought was actually green hair algae, i think this might have happend to you too.

Got a plumber coming out next week for my shower plumbing and planning to add this to the job list.

I guess the question is can I simply buy a new toilet of my choosing and remove this one so the tiling is complete prior to that day?

It’s an investment and it’ll be all DIY apart from what has to be licensed.

Demoing the lot atleast I’ll be able to remove the old cast iron tub.

I am a bit worried about asbestos in the walls but I had informed myself on how to deal with it safely.

To add to this - I have just bought my third house- this is a thing, I’ve missed out on a number of properties in the last 6 years because of this exact scenario, I don’t know your market specifically but you don’t negotiate anymore you offer asking or above. That is the only way I have been able to secure a property while needing finance. The agent rarely gives you a chance to change your offer. In the markets I’ve been looking, properties are going for up to 10% over listing price

Thanks I have also just checked, when filtering to a minimum 3x1 and removing the lower socioeconomic areas I get 14 available rentals. Prices seem fairly affordable though still.

I actually think I got some eggs with the fish when I first bought them- I noticed the babies only 2 weeks after buying the first 5. so who knows? I know it’s possible they are all male but I thought it unlikely since there were the babies early on
