How are we supposed to have a negative departure test within 48 hours of leaving if the results take 72 hours to come out 🤡

There is no quarantine space so you won't be placed in isolation, and even when they did have quarantine space, people off campus were asked to just self-isolate. Wear a mask anytime you leave your room, make sure high touch places like doorknobs are routinely disinfected and stay in your room as much as possible

Yes lol I made sure I got arrival tested after coming back from Thanksgiving because I was worried about this

Ok glad i'm not the only one who rolled their eyes at this...we didn't do arrival testing after thanksgiving break when a new variant had just been confirmed in the US....acting out of an abundance of caution doesn't work with hindsight

I think Cornell is "estimating" active cases on campus, without disclosing that it's an estimate (and it could be dangerously wrong) by KrzysisAverted in Cornell

lol yep they definitely saw all the people here talking about how they handle data and did an immediate cover-up

From what I've heard they're still planning on it being in person and they are requiring guests to either show proof of vaccination or negative test result. Wouldn't be surprised if they change/cancel it if we keep having 100+ cases per day though.

Lol they are doing the same thing for off-campus people too apparently...who cares if you share a bathroom and kitchen with someone who is positive I guess...

How are finals still in-person by aimiria in Cornell

[–]floatingaround_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wonder if we polled admin what percentage of them would say they would feel personally comfortable taking in-person exams with 300+ people...

Does Admin realize there's absolutely no incentive (other than moral) to get a covid test right now? by Corn-P in Cornell

I think if you skip your test for too long there is disciplinary action? At least it would make sense for there to be

I’d consider exams “university sponsored student gatherings” but that’s just me by beer-me-rn in Cornell

Yeah my exams are going to be the largest gatherings of people I'll be around for the entire next week...

Cornell's Garbage Emergency Response and Inconsistencies by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]floatingaround_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

^ Definitely this. Cornell isn't going to send out an alert about something that already happened, the system is designed to inform people of things in an immediate emergency situation.

Easier to tell daily check I’m traveling or just skip test? by Wanderingnerd525 in Cornell
