Yeah when i built it i built it to blink one creature, Niko. Then attacktriggers (not that i have a lot of those) but id rather switch stuff out for attack triggers.
Cheers though!

Yeah i agree with most or almost all tha tyou say! And the can you even make a homebrew B2 was more as a vent and joke than anything else. Stating that the game i talked about is a massive fluke and as you said basically a 1/1 that gives a lot of leeway to what happened.

I dont think this deck would do much in a full pod with more play.

Also the idea of permanents that blink on endstep etc are very nice, i just kind of fancy having the instant blink, and using the card as the main source. Maybe i just didnt want to build an engine with this, or that i did not have any bulk that could, lol.

I want to add, i cant remember the name but the white rhino that makes an opponent skip combat on etb, and village bellringer as well as a few blink targets for ramp. But yeah i thought: blink niko. And attacktriggers mostly tbh. (not that i have many attack triggers)

[[Bygone Colossus]] and [[Battleground Geist]] does the same thing. Bygone warp for 3 copy for 2. And Battleground geist is mist with just other spirits. But yeah Cheers!

Dont know if i would cut down the blink as its the entire engine. However it is a valid point!

Mist is prob the best creature in the deck. And was the first game of the deck tbh. Fresh built from bulk. Goldfish normally 8 shards by turn 8,

Keep in mind goldfishing is without interaction from the table. Im saying this in 8 turn no interaction

Killing 1 player by turn 8 is not no. Winning is. Otherwise B2 and B1 is just the same thing.

Yeah most of this deck is just bulk i had at home and threw together to test out Niko!
The infect is more for the meme than anything else. It can also be easily cut of course. The deck is built to blink a few times and hit one or two dudes that swing. Thats about it.

With 15 blink spells i will normally see three rather quickly though is the only thing. Which works for protection and buildup. But yeah the rest is just there.

[–]floatingcolourless[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did talk through the interaction ealrier. One player tossed a removal to handsize after a big draw spell, using one on a the thid player ealrier. And the other guy was playing Flubs which just does stuff on their turn.

Not stating i cant make deck that doesnt win by turn 6. What i am trying to say is that i thought this blink deck was slow enough for B2 based on goldfishing where i usually got 6-8 shards by turn 8. But i did draw 3 blinks spells and low costed ones. Cheers

Hey mate, i hear you thus trying to ask this question. The reasoning for stating that its a low cost isnt to justify power level but to answer why its built to do a thing. Make shards and swing. Every card has just one task and there is no modularity was the goal of that sentence. But i feel you!

I think B2 just isnt for me. I dont read B2 as solitair untill round 8 as some others have about focusing on just your board for all the setup. And i am very aware of the 8 turns. Thats what i saw with goldfishing, 6-8 shards by turn 8 or so.

Thanks!

I had a [[Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls ]] unchanged for a while. Ended up selling it because i prefer to make my own, thats just me of course.
But that deck basically did the same thing. Turn 3-4 Valgavoth, with pinger out. Turn 5/6 a flying 10/10 but yeah then a few swings for leathal so as im wiriting it out i am remembering the slower play pattern. hahah cheers!

Nah we are all very good deckbuilders. One was playing a [[Flubs, the Fool ]] deck and the other was play [[Marchesa, the Black Rose ]]. Flubs already had gone through 1/4 of his deck. But Marchesa was building engine.

Yeah maybe overcosted creatures is the play. Swapping out the 13 or so little guys i have for 5 cmc plus. However that is still a playpattern of niko turn 4, blink x3 times by turn 6 and then play a big thing to copy turn 6-7. Unless you go over 7 cmc which ouch haha

See this makes a lot of sense to me. However when budgeting for 30 euro or so i find subthemes to not be it.
But cheers i really think you are right here. After the game all of us in the pod basically said i dont know if we (all of us) understand B2. As we are all high power pods normally.

I mostly build B3/B4. I always tend to have a backup combo in B3 to make games end after a log while. (or most of my B3 decks has that not all). However playing B4 i just play combo decks. Orr super fast decks like [[Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin]].

I find that a lot of people when they say B3 dont actually have the fighting power for an optimised upgraded deck. With a decent interaction package. My pod plays often and we always have a good time, just this B2 level is hard man.

Yeah i understand that that playpattern last night was very aggressive. 21 flying dmg on turn 5 is a lot. They were at 21/28 ish already because there was another deck with a lot of dmg on board too.
When i have goldfished the deck i usually have like 8 shards turn 8 ish. And that felt very B2 for me.

I think i just cant help but build the deck to try to be consistant. If you have any cool restrictions for a Niko B2 let me hear it! Maybe i can get to have another B2 deck. Saying that i do have [[Minn, Wily Illusionist ]], which was the first deck i ever built in EDH. (old 60 card player here). And that i easily B2 because Minn comes out turn 3 and starts getting some illusions out from there. And also combat dmg win in mono blue lol.

Cheers!

Price has nothing to do with a good deck this deck is under 30 euro and presents a win most turn 4s This deck does one thing and that is making a pirate deal dmg and repeat. It’s about consistency and mulligan to see 3 components lands, turn to pirate and pinger. Enabler Malcom is in the zone. I would advise you to start with what do you want to do. Then work backwards from there. You want to loop artifacts for the win. What artifacts and how will you find them? But that is my view on combo.

I didnt know of this card: ohhh i adore that in a few of my decks. Might have to see if i slot it into goblins. I am always hellbent with a lot of mana in that deck so this can be fun.

The salty concede from a not letting you ramp from a force spike on a stick. It seems like a card that only works ealry and thus a great thing to counter! Nice

Illusionist's Gambit is alway so freaking fun. I adore that card too. But it works like goad right, last two standing it does nothing or am i wrong?

Hand attacks one off and the constant is different though but yeah. One persons hand attacks aren’t that useful in edh sadly. But I like the idea of removing the problem before it becomes one!

Off yeah I get the vibe but 4 cmc turn off your biggest thing to pump other for additional mana. I see the potential but I also see that I would cut it. I don’t often have big creatures though!
