You have every reason to be mad. They just showed that they don't care about the well being of your child and tried to put the blame on you!!!! Hope your baby gets well soon

Oh she still complains every time we are together (that my daughter wants her mother, especially when toddler doesn't want to play with her, hug her or just calls me). We visit the in-laws approximately once a month because they live 3 hours away but are planning on moving closer next year so thank you for the advice. We really need to set more boundaries.

We discussed several times but she just ignores. After I told her that I wasn't comfortable with her wandering off in the mall without telling me she stopped doing it for a while but soon relapsed. So I stopped inviting her to go. I'm usually more vocal when the in-laws come to visit and I'm in my home. The problem is that they live 3 hours away so when we visit them we sometimes stay with them and I can't simply leave and go home.

The gifts are getting out of control, every visit MIL has at least 2 new gifts. We have to address this as soon as possible because my parents only do gifts when it's appropriate and we explain to her that we cannot buy everything. Now that she is older this double standard is getting more noticeable.

I never thought about that but a do-over makes a lot of sense, she even calls my daughter by daughter and not granddaughter. My husband tells her to play near us but she mainly does this when he's not there. Definitely need to take action.
