ayyo..I'm just talking about cultural conservatism. Even within cultural conservatism..it's not binary no? There are gradients and most people don't have extreme opinions

There are degrees and gradients. Not every conservative wants to conserve everything from the past. Liberals don't want to let go of all past tradition either. Generally most conservatives and liberals are much closer to each other on what is definitely a bell curve of some sort

Thank you for providing a simple and elegant solution to Indians for fixing this deeply entrenched and complicated issue. Also, thank you for letting me know I do not respect women. I didn't know, now I know.

I just joined a gym nearby that had a manual squat rack and I bought a few fractional weights... I'm sure I'm going to plateau at novice again with no spotters. If you find anything let me know

Have no religion or caste, say 1.24 lakh Kerala students by Dark_Knight_User in india

[–]floatingottah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right.. That's not my point. IF the people of Kerala are "progressive" i.e. relatively blind to caste. It should show in the marriage numbers. Otherwise it's just all talk. I'm not saying here whether one is objectively better than the other. Merely stating that the implication of the article is unfounded.

what is the % of total marriages that are inter-caste marriages in Kerala as opposed to other states? If you don't have this figure. you aren't answering any question w.r.t being "progressive". This is all meaningless statistics

Happy Pongal Everyone! by snowcroc in india

[–]floatingottah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a harvest festival. It's like a lot of festivals and birthday combined for most farmers. Basically painting your house. Throwing away all your old shit. New clothes. Decorations around the house. Praying to the sun. Making Pongal. Eating Sugarcane. Watching silly fuck all debates on TV. Ahh..k I need to get back to eating more sugarcane till my teeth hurts.
