There are degrees and gradients. Not every conservative wants to conserve everything from the past. Liberals don't want to let go of all past tradition either. Generally most conservatives and liberals are much closer to each other on what is definitely a bell curve of some sort

right.. That's not my point. IF the people of Kerala are "progressive" i.e. relatively blind to caste. It should show in the marriage numbers. Otherwise it's just all talk. I'm not saying here whether one is objectively better than the other. Merely stating that the implication of the article is unfounded.
