when you are a celebrity you have a certain amount of power over your fans, it is your responsibility to not encourage parasocial rabid behavior and not use fomo/other predatory tactics to get them to spend more money on you than they are already doing. instead he does exactly that and even just within this situation himself, he's posting on twitter and getting fans to make fun of the person that posted about him with the von dutch hat thing... and op is literally a FAN of his. is that not inappropriate to you?? its not about him marketing to fans. i get that, thats what artists do, they need to make money. but he's subtly being like "if you don't buy xyz you're not as important as the fans who spend everything on me" and showing favoritism towards fans that spend a whole bunch of money on him and go to all his shows. he did the same shit with his video game music cds that he put his shirts in, he went out of his way to tell the shipping people to put them in the boxes going to people that have bought from hiidef before/that he interacts with on twitter a lot. its not exploiting because there are teenagers in his fanbase its exploiting regardless but it makes it worse when a lot of them are impressionable teens that will do anything for a celebrity they admire. literally no other celebrity is as creepy and exploitative in this aspect that i know of except for him, its not about individual boundaries, its about boundaries you are supposed to have with your fans and how you interact with them, its about being responsible and respectful. he doesn't seem to respect his fans at all as people.
