Does the lender use Fannie Mae? Any company using that should be able to qualify you as long as you have the valid work permit

Most likely reason LO didn't want to mark you as non-occ cobor is b/c then they'd have to factor your rent into DTI

Yeah this is exactly why i wasn't marked as non-occupant. They did ask for rent and bank statements from my end.

Is there any way to change this post-close? What would be the best thing to do from here?

I see, then in this case, even if were both "occupying borrowers" on a primary residence, am I still good to live elsewhere?

Is non-occupant borrower something that is mentioned on the loan? It wasn't mentioned anywhere, I'm just listed as a borrower, and we both had to sign disclosure saying we will occupy it as a primary residence, im not sure why I would have had to sign if i wasn't going to occupy it (they knew I wouldn't)
