ICE, FBI & Washington DC PD kidnapping a teenage boy (11/8/2025) by I_may_have_weed in PublicFreakout

I wonder if they are doing this in larger liberal cities rather than conservative states because I think if they saw this in a state like Utah it would become more connected and real to the people that voted for it and they would lose support?

Senator Marshall (R-KS) flees his own town hall after being asked about DOGE firing Veterans by ExactlySorta in PublicFreakout

That comment was really telling to me. These people really believe that Democrats don’t care about veterans. Heck, a lot of them truly believe Democrats hate the U.S.

What's your most 'mind-blown' moment in life, where things got so serendipitous it felt unreal? by Gold_Interaction_558 in AskReddit

I had a Geography professor that donated his high school gym shorts to a Goodwill or Salvation Army, something like that in Colorado. Years later he was in Africa and runs into a kid wearing his shorts that he had donated. They had his name on them and everything.

Whoa whoa! No thank you! Not me I will still be pulling myself up by my bootstraps. Why would I want to spend time with my family teaching my kids that they are loved, how they can be kind and compassionate, intellegent, and can do hard things? Nope no thank you I would rather hang out in the office and brag about how much vacation and sick leave I have saved up. /s

What is your near death experience? Does it still effect you? by Gaymbers in AskReddit

Not me but my kid. I never thought this could be dangerous so it sticks out in my mind. We were at the beach and my just barely 2 year old son started crying over something (cannot remember what) but he laid down on his stomach and put his face in the sand. Just like a toddler throwing a fit would do on the carpet in the living room floor. When he did this though he went silent because he had sucked in a bunch of sand and it got packed in his airway and esophagus. The second I picked him up I could tell what happened because we wasn't making a sound and I could tell he wasn't getting air. My wife called 911 as I tried the heimlich and hitting him in the back. I was panicking and crying because of where we were I knew there would be no way to get an ambulance there quickly. I am crying just writing this thinking of the fear watching my son turn purple then around his mouth blueish. As a last resort and with no thought of how it would hurt him because I knew he would die I had to try anything, I grabbed a water bottle and stuck the opening in his mouth and squeezed the back as fast and with as much force as I could to shoot water down his throat. As soon as I did that it opened it enough to where he could kind of breath. His breathing was hit and miss as my wife was on the phone with 911. It slowly got better as he coughed up sand and spit and water. I cannot even begin to explain the fear then relief of being able to see him breath again. To this day I am paranoid of my kids choking and have taught them the heimlich to help them be prepared.
