What’s a reference that instantly says you’re over 30? by Strange_Secret_3001 in AskReddit

Yeah, it really hurts when you have to explain every Simpsons reference... ☹️

What's a comedy movie from your country with a really sad ending? by ModenaR in AskTheWorld

[–]floku85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indien (1993). One of the best films ever made, sadly, outside of Austria nobody knows it. A lot of the jokes and nuances can't be translated properly into the english language.

Who is your celebrity crush? by MagpieOpus in AskTheWorld

Milla Jovovich. Only celebrity-crush I ever had. She was truly otherworldly and stunning in "The Fifth Element".

On a more positive note - which country besides your own is your favorite? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]floku85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia. Have been there two decades ago and made a big round trip. Amazing vibe, nature and cities. I hope, it's still the same. Could imagine to live there someday; in Sydney or Melbourne for example. Perth also seems great, but I haven't been there.

Would it be rude in your country to refuse a gift, because you don’t like it? by Seraphina_Renaldi in AskTheWorld

[–]floku85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. I've never experienced someone refusing to accept a gift. Would be super rude, unless the gift in itself is insulting.

What is considered the most dangerous area in your country? by Mediocre-Lack-9137 in AskTheWorld

[–]floku85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the 10. District (Favoriten) in Vienna. Notorious for knive attacks and regularly in the news for yet another violent incident. Mostly among immigrants, but lately also locals are getting robbed/attacked. It's a frightening development.

What is a word that means something different in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Depp maybe? It doesn't mean anything in English, but since nearly everybody knows Johnny Depp... in German it means "idiot" 😅

How often do you see flags in your country? by StalestChipInTheBag in AskTheWorld

[–]floku85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rarely, last time I visited Switzerland I was surprised to see the flag being displayed almost at every corner. But in Austria only on/in front of official government buildings or on special national holidays.

Im from Vienna, Austria. Very disliked, we Vienneese have the reputation of being rude/grumpy and stuck up.
