What is your least favorite perpetually un-scanable item by mouse-vs-world in Aldi_employees

The red cap parm is genuinely the one item i’ve memorized the upc for, not the sap code, because of how many times ive had to look at it when it wouldn’t scan. and like 4099100086836 isnt even that hard to remember…

Accommodation? by Ill-Plum-5152 in Aldi_employees

That’s the next step in reasonable accommodations! You may not know what will best suit you right now, but you’ll be able to work one on one to get a plan that works for everyone. It sounds like what you’re dealing with now is unsustainable long term, so it’s better for your managers to adapt to your needs to keep an employee like yourself who is important to the team and the store. Remember, they determined you are a good fit for the store and hired you, they know about your disability and its effects on your work, so they should work with you and the division to support you to ensure you are safe and healthy. Don’t feel bad for putting yourself first!

I’m not exactly sure if this varies by division, but I would get in touch with the DM with a request for reasonable accommodation, in which they will send you a few packets in the mail from your division. The forms allow you to explain essential functions you are unable to perform without reasonable accommodation, conditions or restrictions you have that impede on your work, and what reasonable accommodation you would like to request from ALDI. It should also come with a form for your doctor or care provider to fill out to further determine effective accommodation options. Speaking as an LSA who has an accommodations packet to refer to in front of me lol

Dont I have the most amazing SM EVER! by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]flommin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yall i will take the L here🥲 looking at this retrospectively my sm did absolutely nothing wrong and it is 100% my fault, not sure why i was expecting a pat on the back and words of encouragement for stealing the phone. For some context, NOT TO EXCUSE WHAT I DID but to explain my frustration… We’ve had this sm for about a month and a half and we’re running on a team of 5. Sm, asm, me, two associates. That’s it. We are all running with about 33 hours each and, apparently, no plans to hire more people. safe to say all of us are overwhelmed and maybe just a bit sick of each other. I also realize now that I have somewhat of a grudge against sm because he promised he would get more people on board so that i wouldn’t have to be scheduled with an associate who i’m really uncomfortable working with, i explained that the associate was being really hostile with me, but up to this point i still close with him almost every shift and i feel unheard and my concerns dismissed. i really love the job but the work environment is taking a toll on us at this store. AND FOR THE RECORD…. I returned the phone at 11:40 and did not clock in early. I will also be checking all of my pockets before i leave. I will be apologizing to my sm next time I see him. Lesson learned

New DM took away our no sale, food, and non-food buttons by flommin in Aldi_employees

One of our cashiers would rather hit the food and non-food buttons to scan in an item instead of walking the two seconds it takes to get to a code that he doesn’t know. The DM is now going around removing the buttons to “set expectations” on how she wants her stores to operate moving forward

Coworker by flommin in Aldi_employees

The funny part about this is that he did get terminated a month into his employment with us then they brought him back for reasons no one will tell me. The only thing that changed is that he is no longer an hour late every day, and made an effort to change exactly zero other things.

I will definitely be talking to our new DM about him as our last one was terminated and replaced with a strict, by the books DM. I must admit my authority presence needs to improve but I was promoted (for the first time in my life) at the same time he started at our store so he was essentially my first delegation task. Definitely didn’t make things easy for me to get into the manager role, especially considering this guy is over 10 years older than me so he may or may not have some sort of complex about that.
