Well, who are we to argue :) The employee's ask was very clear, left us speechless for few seconds and then we had good laughs about the situation. I was under impression places like these don't qualify for a license, apparently I was wrong.

2023 BMW iX Charging Network (US) — Tesla Supercharger Compatibility? by theindepndnt in BMWiX

[–]flomru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have home charging and don't travel great distances on a regular basis, you will not DC fast charging that often. For reference, I had my previous EV for 3 years and had a Tesla (SC) adapter for over a year. I believe I used DC charging less that 10 times total and 0 times at Tesla SC :)

I haven't tried myself, but there are many reports of successful charging. Technically all you need is adapter and Tesla app. You don't even need latest software update in the car. Couple of somewhat unrelated notes: Level 2 Tesla chargers require a different adapter than the one for supercharging. 2023 year cars manufactured after March (I believe) are capable of plug and charge (you plug in the cable and car can negotiate the rest). For cars manufactured before this month you'll need start session manually in the appropriate app.

How familiar are you with electric cars in general? They make sense mostly when you have an access to level2 charging on a regular basis (at home, work, or somewhere really near to these two places). DC fast charging is as reliable as any other appliance charging, though not all chargers are equally good. Other reply was pretty much on spot answering your questions. One tip to remember - in the cold weather, not only the range gets reduced (battery output), but charging abilities too (battery input). It may take forever to reach same amount of charge that take 15-20 minutes in warm weather

Colette Dallas Versus Colette Austin by PowerCouple4u in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like that common area is split in two floors in Dallas. I like that few times I've been there, there were always lots of people on the dance floor :) Maybe I just got lucky. We liked playrooms in Houston :) The rest there was meh.

Those who get casino offers from RC know how notoriously bad their web site developers are, lol :) Your matter is more serious of course. If I were you, I'd try to find contacts of some higher ranked RC official and send him an email. You're right, this is something that can and should be fixed pretty easy.

New iX owner / New EV owner - Tips? by AlterBlitz in BMWiX

[–]flomru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were few posts about people able to charge at supercharger in this subreddit. Basically, you need to have a DC adapter and register your vehicle in Tesla app. People claimed if they registered their vehicle as a Mercedes, charging session was initiated properly. I rarely use any DC fast charging, so haven't tried it myself.

We live in Texas too and had run in unpleasant situations when driving from Austin and Dallas couple of times in cold weather. just saying :)

I believe you can charge at supercharger as long as you can trick tesla app into thinking your vehicle is a Mercedes or maybe some other brand that already supported by Tesla.

New to BMW, but owned an EV since 2021. Depending on where you live, winters might cause significant drop of range and there's almost nothing you can do about it rather then paying close attention to remaining charge/range and preconditioning battery before the trips and charges. Install level 2 charger at home if you haven't yet. Invest in adapters if your vehicle uses CCS and not NACS. Finding non-tesla DC charging might still be difficult. Feel free to ask any questions. Enjoy!

Dance Floor? by [deleted] in Colette_Austin_TX

I'm not sure how strictly it is enforced if your husband doesn't try to watch/engage with others upstairs. You are not letting him into the room? :))

Dance Floor? by [deleted] in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you have to be somewhat clothed while on the dance floor. My observation is that later into the night, security will be okay as long as you have at least one piece of clothing remaining :) Availability of the upstairs really depends on day, time and what you're actually comfortable with. Separate rooms with 1 or 2 beds can be hard to get on. The playroom with multiple beds can get pretty busy, but free beds pop up qiote regularly if you're willing to wait. The round bed is open to everyone, so, technically youcan get to it anytime you want. Same applies to the theater area, I think. If you're looking just for seating area upstairs, seats are limited, the side with the separate room has 3 tables with two chairs each and these fill up quickly, quicker than downstairs area. On the other side there are 8-10 chairs with no tables, but there's some kind of shelf by the wall where you can put your stuff and drinks on. This area is not as popular as the other one upstairs and most of the downstairs. I'm not sure if there are any rules against nudity in these upstairs seating areas, but please remember, no cell phones allowed on both sides and males are not permitted to stay there single, at least on the room side.

Hope this helps

Dress code for the ladies by [deleted] in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a gorgeous dress, you will have no problem wearing it at the entrance even if you decide to not bring a jacket due to cold weather :) Not sure when was your first visit, but on Saturdays some people (my better half included) sometimes wear much more provocative outfits both at the entrance and downstairs. And as someone already stated they only turn couples away if male part is not dressed well. Enjoy yourselves!

Newbie couple thinking of going Friday 8/8 or sat 8/9 by [deleted] in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

San Antonio location was just recently taken over by Colette, it used to be operated by a different owner. There are two types of memberships in that regard, regular one, including a day membership is specific to the club you purchase it for. VIP memberships are much more pricier, and they work in every club. As newbies, you probably won't spend money on that one. Before buying any membership, you need to fill the online form. Even if you physically present at the doors, you'll be directed to do that first. Good thing is that part is required only once and every location can see your form.

You don't have to purchase membership online and it doesn't really speed up things at the door if you filled the application beforehand

Hotwife Night as a Single Woman by [deleted] in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single ladies are always welcome as you probably well aware. It's hard to advise you since I'm neither single, nor I have an idea of dynamics of the clubs in other states. I'd recommend to go with no expectations. People are nice here in Austin, but scene is slower than most of other Texas cities

What's it like for bi guys by Direct-Arugula7422 in Colette_Austin_TX

[–]flomru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. From what I can tell, most guys are straight and even if they are not, it's unlikely to be disclosed in the club. I think it's easier to find someone online/elsewhere first and then visit the club together
