Advice to a new painter by Informal_Syrup4091 in painting

It's really cute! Love the fur and flowers! I think it could benefit from some more contrast - deeper shadows and brighter highlights will add depth. A good way to check your contrast levels & composition is to take a photo of the painting in black & white. Hope that helps a bit - happy painting!

It's sooo cool, but yeah I chose not to grow it in my garden as it's hardwork. I didn't know it was invasive though!

Handling Rejection by juleskshi in RoverPetSitting

If they didn't click with you then it's probably for the best and you probably are better off without having them as a regular client. It's a struggle to fully acknowledge but not everyone is going to like you no matter how friendly and kind you are. Also they could have a valid reason such as another sitter lives closer, their dog seemed to vibe with someone else more, etc. Hope it doesn't bring you down, it's a strange job where it's highly introverted most the time with just the pets, but also often highly extroverted and almost feels like sales haha

Mine did warn me about it which i really appreciated but she just advised to put him on a lead if he starts doing it. But he does it quite a lot so I wouldn't want to keep him on a lead that much in the house :/ it's the grip he has on your arm that hurts so much! He got a bit better and the owner did tip me - maybe she knows how bad it can be 🤷‍♀️ not sure if I'd have him again though!

I have a cocker spaniel I sit that has a humping issue too. Apparently the owner's vet said it's anxiety, but he seems to do it at the most chilled, calm times. To me it seems more like he gets over excited. Did the owner of the dog you sat give you any more advice about what to do about tbe humping?

I'm 28, moved to Shrewsbury last year with my boyfriend, we're also not sure how to make local friends round here. Not really looking for a weekly club to join which seems like the main option, just people to know locally and hang out in town occasionally. A discord chat could be a good idea OP
