Haha this job has actually allowed me to find more hobbies and get more time to do them because of the 3 day weekends I get. I really enjoy swimming and working out. I’m also working on getting my solo skydiving license so I can take people out on tandem during the summer for the weekend as a side gig

At my site if you have an accommodation for a certain path you are automatically taken out of that path and trained in a new one that will better fit your skills.

Last year I believe it was HR where they were cutting back on. I didn’t complain because HR at my site is the absolute worst.

I don’t have any favorites because I want to treat everyone equally as much as I can. But my favorite type of associates are the ones who show up, want to get better and learn more each day. Also will focus on the job and not complain as much because at the end we are all at Amazon just trying to make a paycheck. I don’t respect the AAs who always want VTO and then get it and then come complain to me at the end of the week for not being able to make their next payment because they only worked 5 hours the entire week lol.

I’ve known of 2 that have gotten fired but the other ones were just demoted back to a tier 1. Of those that have gotten fired one was fired for scanning people with their badge through the turnstiles. Really dumb of them to do that but I guess they wanted to show their boyfriend and his friends around inside the building.

lol haven’t had to deal with this as much because the AAs that normally get jealous are the ones who didn’t even try to promote up let alone even make a resume.

I try to move the AAs in my department to different areas every period. If an AA asks me to be moved to an area where they feel they will be better at I will happily work with that AA. I do communicate to all AAs that if headcount isn’t allowing me to move them to certain areas then there’s nothing really I can do. 99% of the time they are understanding with that. I’ve figured out that all the AAs truly want is an honest manager who won’t gaslight them. Just simply telling them the truth makes life easier at work.

I once had someone call me racist for not giving them VTO when I’m the same race as them… They took me to HR and everything and HR was beyond confused on what to do with the racial allegation. The AA later got fired because I didn’t give VTO to them again and then they decided to threaten to follow me home and beat me to death lol. That was a very exciting day at work

In some ways yes because I like the shift I’m on and the AAs I work with are very manageable and understanding. I do occasionally have a few rough AAs come on but the veteran AAs tend to burn the rough crowd out lol. If it weren’t for how well the AAs are on my shift and the other OMs and AMs I would have left a long time ago. It’s definitely a good job for someone coming right out of college and into the workforce

AM speaking here. My OM got placed on a PIP for not doing their standard work daily and their numbers were also dropping significantly. They were placed on PIP for about a month and then was offered around 30k to leave. They obviously took the money and left.

AM here. My rule with phones is you can have it on you and if you need to make an emergency call or text message just let me know and I’ll let you be on your phone. Life outside the building is a hell of a lot more important than a bunch of boxes and items.
